John Wardley - Coaster Designer (created Nemesis and Air)
"I'm the developer behind Disney's original Coaster game, that came out ten years ago. I just wanted to say, its about time somebody made a good sequel for the designers in all of us, that don't care about park admissions, or lines. Great Job guys!"

Recently however , the creator and his team have been working on NoLimits 2.
This , already , looks like sex on a plate.
I am proud to show new screenshots from NoLimits2. The underground tunnels are done and working nicely. One will be able to create tunnels through terrain and even below water. It is even possible to create tunnels right through the water. Also the Dive-Machine is done. The Dive-Machine will be one of the new coaster-styles that will be introduced in NL2. We recreated the ten-seats across floorless version. Tom and Kevin did a great job in recreating the trains, while I was working in parallel on the engine to support the new train features. First of all the train bogeys will now work like the real thing. I implemented a true A-steering (German: Achsschenkellenkung) bogey simulation. That means the left and right parts of the bogey will perfectly follow the track and will rotate independently in all axes. This can be seen on the first screenshot. The true A-steering simulation will make NoLimits2 move ahead into realism and leave the status of a game behind.
Please notice how the track gets darker, the further it goes down into the tunnel. The screenshots also show the new rails in action. Both the trains and rails use multiple textures to create the final image. Diffuse maps, bump maps, specular maps and reflection maps are used to recreate a realistic looking track. We hope you like that. We are working hard on finishing the product. Even when you won't hear much from us, you can bet that we are busy working on NoLimits2. Obviously there is still a lot of work left to do. Everyone who has ever worked on a large project can probably confirm how the complexity increases dramatically with the size of the project. I had to learn that the hard way. [ol]
Now look at this. Brand new ( High Quality) Dive Machine cars , as well as what appears to be a new rendering engine + shaders. Higher quality track as well.

This is going to be amazing , however we still have to wait for any sign of a release date.
Post your Tracks + Tips here!
This looks like it'd be amazing with that AMBX system thing.
Brb, reinstalling Roller Coaster Tycoon 2.
It looks like it has ambient occlusion , but judging by what else the guy has said , there's going to be more room for compatibility , I think there will be room for modding , coaster & engine wise.
Holy shit the new one looks awesome, I always thought this game died.
Odd textures but woah.
Looks nice, but I prefer RCT3 over NoLimits.
I played the original, I might pick this one up.
I LOVED No Limits, an actual realistic Roller Coaster sim, I played for months non-stop creating bigger and better tracks.
There's only one emote that can accurately describe this.
:byodood:
Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 was one of my favorite PC games growing up. Heck, I believe it was the first computer game I owned.
RCT1's theme song..
Nostalgia.

Well, uh, it was released in 2004. So you're pretty young, used the wrong game as an example, or got your first computer when you were over 10.
Jesus fucking christ, NoLimits was a big part of my childhood!
How old are you, dude?
We grew up with RCT1.
Who the hell is "we"?
I didn't get into computer gaming until about the time Half-Life 2 came around and I'm almost 20. It's not my fault I didn't have an interest in PC games until then.
Anyway, I always wanted to get the original NoLimits, but it never seemed to be a "game" enough to justify the purpose. I mean, it's really fun building coasters over and over, but it gets stale really fast if there's no big objective or anything.
The thing with this game is I find it almost has too much freedom, like you don't know what to do really, whereas rollercoaster tycoon is much more guided and intuitive which makes it easier to get into and in a way more fun.
or got your first computer when you were over 10.
This mostly. Six years seems like ages ago. When I said growing up, I didn't really mean how young or mature I was. Just a lot of important stuff that made me who I am today happened at the same time.
And I've lost my RCT 2 :saddowns:
