Why the hell can't I call them? I can have an ambulance, fire truck or police car brought to my location instantly via cell phone, but not a taxi? They are plentiful, I know, but every once in a while I'm stuck in an area where I can't find a taxi for 10 minutes. It's annoying as shit.
I think it's because you're supposed to call Roman's taxi service.

You can either call Roman's taxi service after getting a certain respect level from him, or you can call one from the streets (that cost money).

Just hail a cab in the street, it's not like waiting a while if there isn't one there is such a pain.
You have to do a mission before you can hail taxis I think. It's awkwardly far in, a number of hours at least.

Yeah, they're all over the place, but sometimes I find myself on a street where there is no traffic and being able to call a cab would be really convenient. I find I use the cab more than any other form of transportation, since it's basically like a teleport to where ever you wanna go.

I swear to god, the only reason you should EVER call a taxi is so you can kill the driver and steal the car.... I mean, the game is fucking called, GRAND THEFT AUTO, it wasn't named that so you could casually go around paying for taxi rides.

Yeah but driving everywhere just to get someone takes forever and can get boring especially if its the other side of the map..

Calling Roman's taxi while in the middle of a firefight with cops, hopping in and trying to escape is actually pretty fun.
A taxi kidnapped Little Jacob once. He just drove off with him. :comeback:
