Minecraft Server Manager job - Games

Hey, First off I'd like to apologize in advance if this is in the wrong section. However, although I am new here and my post count does not make this thread seem very convincing I'd just like to reassure you that my business here is 100% legitimate and not a scam or anything. I have started off a Minecraft Factions server for my own purposes and have little experience with Minecraft server configuration. Therefore I am looking to hire someone here that is very experienced with Minecraft server configuration and preferably with advanced knowledge of the Factions mod, to setup my server before launch. You should at least offer a rough estimate of the amount you're willing to pay.

Age: 15 (turning 16 in a month) Experience with server configuration: Pretty good amount. have an rpg server with factions, mcmmo, spout, bukkitinventory tools, and more. Experience with Plugin making: none right now. will be working on this Knowledge of Factions mod: quite a bit. i have it on my server. How much are you expecting for the job (Set amount or Hourly, if so how much /hour): $5/hour would be fine. i'm okay with less if necessary

$10-$15 an hour is pretty good considering you're just sat at your computer keeping an eye on a server.

OP, you're better off learning how to do it yourself. If you have someone do the work for you, you still won't understand how your server works and will be at great risk of being easily manipulated due to the lack of knowledge about it. You'll also have to rely on someone you don't know to get things done, which puts you in an even more undesirable position. It isn't that difficult to setup a MC server. When I initially wanted to host a MC server, I knew nothing about the server software or how to install mods. It only took me 5-6 hours of research and reading to figure out how to get everything working, and you could easily do the same. It would sure be better than forking over cash to some person you don't know on the internet that probably won't get the job done the way you want it, or at all.

It will be better if you do it for yourself so if something goes wrong then you will know how to fix it.

Honestly, the majority of people on FP could probably set this thing up with ease. You're essentially wasting your money. Here's a tip: when asking for aid on the internet, never bring up payment unless asked or if the normal attempts of asking fail first. When you tell people you're paying, they'll blindly accept the payment even though what you are paying for is generally an easy service that shouldn't require payment. You're essentially tricking yourself.

[editline]14th January 2012[/editline] "Server manager" implies you'll be regularly [I]managing[/I] the server, not just setting it up.

Believe me, learning how it works pays off. It may seem complicated at first glance, but if you "waste" 10 minutes by reading the instructions for the plugins you will actually understand them.

Those were the days. But to the OP, if you have someone set all this up for you definitely watch what he is doing or ask some questions. Unless you want to dish out money every time something breaks or a update occurs you need to know some things to maintain it.
