Every single time that I load ANY game on my xbox 360 I have to update it. It is extremely annoying. I know that my games are not constantly updating officially because when I play with my friends they rarely have to update. Anybody know what's going on?
Do you have an Arcade system without a hard drive? I believe that the updates are just cached onto the MU and erased every time a new game is loaded up because of the small capacity of the Memory Units. A hard drive will solve this problem.

a 20 gb hard drive could be like 10-20 dollars, not even.

oh wow, thats messed up then. I say try erasing all the updates on the system. If you do not know how to do it, then this is what you have to do:

* Go to the Xbox Dashboard, select the System Blade, and select Memory.
* Highlight the HD symbol and press Y.
* Press X, X, Left Bumper, Right Bumper, X, X.

I will warn you before hand that if you have games with expansion packs (Oblivion, Fallout 3, etc), that this may or may not affect them, so do not perform this if you are unsure about how it will affect your games. So try this if you want to, but just know before hand that it may mess with some games.
EDIT
Forgot to mention but it is pretty obvious. After you restart the Xbox, all the system updates will be reinstalled "clean".
