I am going on a trip with my dad soon. But this is a trip for his job, and they are usually very boring. So I will have a lot of free time with my laptop. What are some really good games that I could buy for this trip? Basically just the best game(s) you've ever played. I don't care which kind of game it is, as long as it's on the PC.
IVAN Dwarf Fortress Deus Ex and a bunch of TellTale games.
Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri
I'm thinking about getting Far Cry 2 because a friend said it was really good, but I'm not sure.
fallout 3,team fortress 2and saints row 2 popped into my head i realy enyoy those games.
^Already played and beat all of those
I'm thinking about getting Far Cry 2 because a friend said it was really good, but I'm not sure.
Dear Jesus no. It's very long and repetitive, the multiplayer is a joke, the fire is a gimmick, and the story is just dredge. A lot of it is grinding for more diamonds.
Ahh. Well, I saw some reviews that said it was good so I didn't know what to think.
Depends, the firefights are really fun, the healing system is fun but still kind of gimmicky. Depending on what difficulty you're playing at the AI can either be really fucking stupid or just stupid. Weapons degradation is kind of annoying Vehicles tend to break really easily No mod-ability. Most of the maps out there suck.

I already have the orange box of course >.< [editline]10:24PM[/editline] I was also thinking about getting Crysis. Is it good, or just overrated?
You could get an emulator and play some SNES/NES/N64/DS. Emulators aren't illegal, are they?
You can't "beat" Team fortress 2.
Empire: TW Rome: TW Medieval 2: TW Team Fortress 2 Fallout, entire series except tactics TES: Morrowind, Oblivion (haven't tried others) Doom 2, was my first ever game Duke Nukem 3D, second ever game Super Mario Bros. (DOSbox it) Dwarf Fortress Freespace 2 on gog.com, fucking amazing Crysis I thought was very monotonous and boring Farcry 2 I thought was good, not the best game ever but has some awesome moments. Worth it for the £20 price on steam.
You can't "beat" Team fortress 2.
I know that, I was talking about the other two games. But I have gotten tired of TF2 seeing as I have every achievement and unlockable and have thoroughly played every class till quitting out of boredom or rage.
Oh, Half life series, including the goldsource expansions and shit
^ Played and beat
TF2 and Diablo 2. Deus Ex as well.
Get some timewasting shit that tou always thought would be crap but turn out to be fucking awesome: Everyday shooter Geometry wars Puzzle Quest
prototype
oblivion of course with lots of mods, cod 4 and 5 if you hadn't beat them yet
panzers phase one is fun to play
Also, here are some of my favorites just to give ideas of what may or may not be good for me Fallout 3 Oblivion Half life 2 Half life Left 4 Dead Mass Effect All GTA games All MGS games Return to Castle Wolfenstein Prototype Killzone 2 Some of my all time favorites.
World in Conflict Condemned: Criminal Origins (If you're into that stuff)
I just wish that there were more games like fallout 3 and oblivion :sigh: What about bioshock, is that any good?
I just reinstalled it today, it's a great game. Fucking great story, doesn't seem that strong to begin with but it builds up a lot
I just wish that there were more games like fallout 3 and oblivion :sigh: What about bioshock, is that any good?
Really good story, fun gameplay (gets boring for some people), not much re playability, a bit short.
^ Yeah, I like games like that. I'll give it a go since my brother has it and I could install it on my computer [editline]10:50PM[/editline] If it's a bit short, will I need more than one game? Last time my dad had one of these trips, I played oblivion the whole time and it had more than enough gameplay to last the whole 7 day trip. 7 days in Seattle (although only 3-4 days at the hotel in total)
Bioshock with constant play won't last you seven days. hey that rhymed. Get your hands on COD4, kinda-similar to Killzone 2 from what I've seen. Not sure though. It's still a great shooter.

For some reason, despite a lot of other people thinking it sucked, I thought left 4 dead was one of the fucking greatest games I've ever played and I still find time to play it quite frequently. It just never gets old to me for some reason, even though there's only a few weapons, and limited levels... I've beat COD4 btw. And got to my 3rd prestige on multilayer before getting tired of the 12 year old online community. But the single player gameplay was a lot of fun.
