What was so great about Portal compared to the other OB games? - Games

After beating Half-life 2:Episode 2 and Portal I thought they were both good. It seems like people said Portal was the best thing out of the Orange Box. Sure it had portals and it was revolutionary but it was just a contraption of puzzles that had a humoress robot talking. I heard a lot of people say it was very funny, I thought Portal was funny but not THAT funny. I don't know why but I find all the Portal memes not very funny at all such as "Welcome to android hell" or "The cake is a lie", its just not funny when people blurt it out to be funny IMO. I just don't understand how people think Portal was VERY funny. Its a good game in all but I don't understood why everyone thought it was the main thing about the Orange Box. Does anyone else feel like this?

Best thing for me in the OB was TF2. Of course I love all the other things, but this game I still play a lot. Portal had great idea, but I played only few times.

Portal was awesome because it's Portal.

There's nothing wrong with Portal, but the real genius in the OB was in TF2.

Portal was something new and interesting that was fun. Episode Two was good but it was to short for me. Probably because I was expecting something around the length Half-Life 2 was. Team Fortress 2 is the best out of the OB, probably because it's multi-player so I can't really beat it and be done with it, but because it keeps getting updated with new weapons and maps. I'm still playing it now even though I got the OB when it was launched.

Because some guy from FP worked on it.

Portal was my first valve/steam game. It was awesome. :razz:
