So I have a little HP laptop here and I was wondering what games you suggest playing on this little thing. It has a 2.40 GHz duo processor and a mobile intel 965 express chipset family (Video/graphics card I think). So it is kind of crappy, nevertheless I know that Facepunch will throw in a lot of good ideas. Fire away!
Any game that was released before 2005
grand theft auto 1 and 2 (free over at R*'s website) grand theft auto 3, vice city and san andreas fallout 1-2 max payne 1, maybe max payne 2 if you can run it half-life 1 and other games running on gold src
Any older game. I could get Call of Duty 2 working on my old GMA 950. I presume you could get CoD4 on all lowest at 20fps on there as well. Nothing newer than 2006 unless it's not really graphical, essentially.
I had a similar laptop with a 915 Series GMA. I used to play games like Madballs : Babo Invasion, Hitman 1-3, the older Grand Theft Autos, Half life 1 and Torchlight. Things like that. I did attempt to play Garry's Mod with it. It was only just playable on Lowest, but not feasible. You might have a better chance with the 965 though.
just fyi but on my eee pc max payne 2 runs better than max payne 1 also FEAR runs on my netbook so it'll probably run on your laptop as well also flatout 1, never tried 2 [editline]10th november 2010[/editline] i have GMA 950 by the way
Flatout 2 runs on a Intel Core 2 Duo 1.6GHz, 1GB RAM, Intel GMA 950 at around 21fps averaged.
minesweeper
I have a GM45 with a 2.0 ghz Celeron and I can run New Vegas.
Minecraft
Get Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri. Or any Civilization game, really.
Age of Mythology
Oblivion with the mod "Oldblivion."
I have a 1.6 single-core and it runs hl2 like a charm.
I forgot. Command and Conquer. Any before C&C 3 : TW should work fine.
Minecraft
This destroys my laptop, it gets laggy as fuuuck.
The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall It's free.
Thanks guys, loads of good suggestions. Will be checking them out!
Warcraft III, Starcraft, Torchlight, Titan Quest, Uplink (great hacking sim that can be run on basically any computer), Call of Duty 1 or 2, Counter Strike 1.6, Freelancer (don't know how well you'll be able to run this one), Minecraft, League of Legends (don't know about this one either). Have fun
Freelancer runs fine on even the shittiest of today's PCs. League of Legends may have some problems, though.
