Are you guys sick and tired of 'purchasing' to use a GAMEMODE? Valve has stated it is illegal to have a gamemode and sell it. I am not asking for an army, I am just letting you be aware that you're paying for something you doesn't need paying for. I'm going to report Kuromeku, and either they will sue him, tell him to give it out for free or get rid of it. (or 2 of the three options, cannot do all 3)
I will ask for some help, will anyone help me make Kuroscript free? If not, that's ok. Valve should be aware of Kuroscript.
I am very late yeah, I was not aware that you had to pay to get kuroscript.
What are you on about. I never "purchased" a game mode.
Haha, Conna is charging for a gamemode? Wow.
From what i understand, Kuromeku is charging people to use his RP script.
Where has Valve stated that it's illegal?
As far as I know it's far from illegal to sell gamemodes, although it is quite greedy and atrocious. Not to mention how incredibly thick you are if you'd spend money on a gamemode.
Yeah it's lame but I doubt it's illegal if all of the code was written by him and/or he has permissions from people who made pieces he used.
Isn't it in Valve's terms of use that it states you cannot charge people to play games made using their shit?
Somebody sent valve an email asking if it was okay, Valve told them it wasn't. Anyone who pays to play on conna's shit server is a retard anyhow and deserves to have their money taken from them.
Also, wrong forum.
Gamemode made with Lua =/= Game made using Valve's content
Stop this fucking drama.

It relies on Valve content though :eng101:
And you want drama, go to the GMod RP section and bring this up, watch as the Kuromeku fankiddies bitch at you.
I bet that Kuromeku script dies off in less than half a year.
so kuro gets in shit? (im on phone so mind the punction)

We have an RP section?

I don't think they mean that he charges to play on the servers, but rather he sells the game mode that you can put on a server.
What sorry little fucker pays for an RP script for Gmod?
Isn't Kuromeku some RP shit?
It's an overly complex, poorly optimized script that controls every aspect of GMod RP with useless eyecandy, destroying the actual point in role-playing and severely limiting role-playing potential; essentially "railroading" in pen-and-paper role-playing terms. The only reason his community is popular is because he used the RealFake Clients Source mod to make his servers look popular a while back.
Conna is a prick anyway. He's been permabanned, unbanned, and permabanned again several times because he has an enormous god complex and seems to think he's the best Lua coder in the whole damn world and everyone else should accept the fact that they are no match to Conna's Lua-fu.
I would just... Play something else...
Does that mean it would be warez to share the code for free?
Well i quite like the RP servers
I don't see what the issue is here.
If you don't agree with paying for a gamemode, don't buy it. It seems pretty simple, right?
If someone else wants to pay for it (A community which isn't poor, for example), why does that affect you in the slightest?
Well, Valve is sueing Kuro for hacking a gmod server anyway. It's all good.

The question is not of wants, the question is of legality.

Where did you get that info? I'd like to read the source.
It's not actually on a forum, I was told by this guy, which I'm friends with and his friend, which is one of the owners of the community who owned a server, which got hacked by Kuromeku. He has 'backdoors' in his scripts which allows him access to any server with the script.

Add him only if you're wanting to know the full story, not to rage or troll, would you kindly?
This is the guy who owns the server, his mate (which is my mate too like I first said) doesn't want to be involved in this thread.
God...I gotta stop playing Bioshock. >:l

I find that very hard to believe. Sounds like your average angry kid liar that's trying to be intimidating.
That Kuromeku adds backdoors to his own scripts is far from comparable to other malicious events that has taken place in GMod history, and Valve has never intervened(except for patching the Source engine if it was a vulnerability in the Engine itself)
And that Kuromeku gets to use his backdoors is only to blame on the stupidity of the host, who shouldn't have wasted money on a gamemode that could easily be leaked without any legal ramifications whatsoever(doesn't matter how many free licenses he slaps on it, which is why selling it is stupid).
And the pity mind shows its undermined intellect. Bravo.
Valve and a few other companies are taking their toll on Kuro. (For hacking a server) I wouldn't want to be in his socks right now...
Link the damn thing or it's considered false by a kid.
If a script, gamemode mod, or anything else, regardless of its content, is made on a engine, and relies on that engine, or source code to execute itself in anyway, it is then, as part of the EULA, breaking the rules to sell for any profit. Read it sometime.

You are dumb.

Yes. This was a massive part of the Paysite controversy on The Sims 2 communities. The EULA for Hl2. Steam. TF2. Etc. states this.
Yeah pisses me off that people always act as if they know what they are saying, when they haven't even read the god damn EULA anyway, there was a huge argument on GSC between me and another guy, who was selling his Stalker mod for money. In the end, he left, but came back with about 3 other accounts to try and call me out, he failed badly.
