Yes, I know there have been past threads on ROBLOX, however they were either lacking in content, or dead.

Anyways, ROBLOX is a 'sandbox' game, made completely of lego like bricks, which has grown almost exponentially over the past year. It is a game very much like Gmod, with elements of Second Life or Blockland mixed in. Essentially, each player is given a place, which is their own server in which they can do anything they wish in. You could build a town, complete with ai scripted by you, construct an accurate WWII Battlefield, or even build your own RPG, the possiblities are endless. The game also includes combat, which is different in every server you join. In one it may be a turn-based RPG-like fight system, while in another it may be a third person shooter. Once again, anything is possible.

The game is run almost completely on the creativity of its users. It has no levels, no set-rules, and most importantly, no limitations. If you can script it, or if you can build it, you can make it. The engine also includes a very robust Lua library. Whether you have never scripted in Lua before, or you are a Lua genius, you will be able to script in Roblox in no time. Unless specifically stated, all creations are open-source, and as such prove to be valuable examples when learning to script. I Myself had never scripted before joining this game, and after a few days, had grasped the basics. Now I am regarded as one of the top people to see for scripting help.

The game also rewards places who create unique places, with money gained for everry person that visits their server. This money can be used to purchase the creations of other players, or official hats released by the ROBLOX admins.
In addition, the engine features an amazing physics library. You are able to build the house of your dreams, only to pull apart vital support beams and watch the whole thing collapse.
While I understand that the community of this game is not the greatest, the sheer awsomeness of the game makes up for it, and this alone has kept me busy over the past year, the longest I've ever played a game.
The game is also played actively by a few other Facepunch members, namely Officer Tom, and SK Paragon. There is also a Facepunch member whom is a moderator for this game, however I will not release his name. Anyways, I would highly recommend that you give the game a shot, if you look past the community, and actually try the game, I can guarantee that you WILL love it!

If you need any help whatsoever, or if you have any intention of starting to script, be sure to PM me, and I'll try my best to help! In-game I go by the name of Aeacus.
Looks awesome, DLing now.
It really is a good game :) It offers all the possibilities of Second Life, and includes just about everything Gmod has, other than a great community. It just needs a few good members, and that could all change however.
My younger brother plays this, and to be honest, i'd rather play Gmod.
Honestly I'd rather play Blockland.
Then again that's because Blockland works on Vista. :(
I thought it said "ROFLBOX" when I looked at it :excited:
Honestly I'd rather play Blockland.

Hmm, on the wiki it says it has problems running on Vista, but it doesn't actually say it won't work at all. I might as well try it.
Also the thing lags when more than 100 bricks go physical :o

Works for me.
Vista 32bit ultimate.
Works for me.
Vista 32bit ultimate.
Yeah, it worked for me, but I didn't really like it too much.
Edit:
Well, I did actually like it, but I just don't feel like taking the time to get used to it.
I don't know what I did, but I can't connect to the website anymore.
I'm so there, installing now.
I got it working and instantly fell in love with it, it was so fun destroying key components in my house and watching it fall. Also it does not look as bad as the pictures make it look. It's like that wii game boom blox but free and on the PC.
By the way, I am running vista home premium 32-bit.
We should all go to the same server some time.
It's more fun to troll than to play this game
The install is fucked up... Something about an error with an assembly component. Then it rolls back the setup and closes. Anyone else getting this?
This is fun because it actually has physics.
OH MY GOD!That's AWESOME!Thank you, thank you thank you!
Oh man, the video really made me want to play it.
I still have it :)
How the hell i play the game?
The bad thing about this is the 13 year old community.

"Provide your parent's email address"
huh
Disregard this.
If it asks for your parents email, make sure you said that you are over 13. And I'm running the game on Vista, and it has worked perfectly for almost a year now. I've never had a problem.
To really see the game though, you have to try building something of your own. If anyone needs scripts, just ask me :)
Edit:
The game also lags a lot less than it did in the past, many of the people who said they hated it, probably played it a long time ago, and it has changed a lot since then :) I don't mind if you don't like the game, but I would recommend giving it another chance.
Yeah it's pretty fun. Blowing up buildings is awesome.
This game? It is fun me and my friends try it and we liked it alot.
I'm glad a few people like the game :) As of now I'm putting together a quick lab so I can show off a few things that are possible.
Looks like shit, pass.
Those screens make my eyes bleed.
JAGGIES EVERYWHERE!
I'm sorry but this looks retarded.
