• My PS3 freezes when playing games, and I think it's because of firmware 3.50.

So here's what's up— I have a 60GB PS3, full backwards compatibility, etc, which is handy for the occasional wearing of nostalgia goggles. It's never had any problems, it's survived the ApocalyPS3, it's never been jailbroken, and I've always kept it in pretty good condition. Until now, apparently, when I upgraded to the latest firmware, 3.50. Now, no matter which PS3 game I put in, one of three things occurs: 1. Sound/graphical glitches 2. A complete system freeze 3. Both of the above. I tried out a PS2 game yesterday, and it works perfectly fine, likely due to a different format. This issue has only been happening with PS3 games, and it's only happened with firmware 3.50. And, to make it even more aggravating, I'm not the only one with issues similar to this. I've tried e-mailing Sony tech support, but they haven't gotten back to me yet, and I've been trying to draw their attention to the issue through their own blog posts, as well as through Twitter and Facebook. They're not even acknowledging the problem. Any ideas, Facepunch? I'm looking forward to playing Black Ops, but it's rather impossible at the moment.
Anybody? C'mon guys, Sony isn't any help.
From what i've read, the firmware 3.50 fucked up some files. You can't do shit but to wait for an update.
Figured. :sigh:
Same happened for me. I was playing Medal of Honor Frontlines I think, now it won't start any game without freezing.
Try these just because sometimes they work: 1.Unplug then replug system (Power cable, HDMI/component - including to TV; sometimes cables get loose) 2.Log on without internet cable plugged in 3.Pop game in but start it manually instead of allowing it to automatically start. Loose/faulty cables are more likely to cause problems than firmware updates I think. But it could just be that the firmware update did screw up some stuff. Good luck man, hopefully you can get this crap sorted out soon and get backing to enjoying gaming.
