THE SCRIBBLY NINJA! At the moment, it's called 'The Scribbly Ninja'. I don't know why, there's nothing terribly 'ninja' about it... It IS quite scribbly, tho. So i guess that's something. Anyway, if you could download it and have a go, that'd be great. The level that's included should only take 1-2 minutes to get through, there's not much to it at the moment, but i'm still interested in getting some feedback. Known Issues: * the art will all be changed once i get the game play nailed down - not really sure what sort of style/theme to give it yet. any thoughts? * because of the dodgy art, it can be hard to see exactly what's going on, this should be fixed once i do some proper art * you can, sometimes, fall through the floor and die (or it'll crash Smiley - sorry 'bout that. * not really sure if sound will work - i'm using OpenAL, but i've had some problems on a couple of computers with it, i'll change it to something else when i get a bit of free time... How to get it started and play: * When you start it up, you'll be in the editor, click the 'open map' button (top left corner of the screen) and find the map (under the 'Data\Maps' subdirectory of the games directory) and press the play button (top right of the screen) * (if you're a big enough glutton for punishment, there's an instruction manual (of sorts) for the editor in the 'Docs\' directory - have fun and don't mind the many, hideous bugs... all the .py source is included, too, so yeah - go nuts, if you make anything, I’d love to see it Smiley ) Controls: * Cursor keys to move * Z to jump * X to grab/pick up weapon (hold cursor keys in the direction that you want to grab in, hold up and press grab to grab something above you, for example) * C to fire a weapon when you get one It should also work with gamepads, and if you drop in another player in the editor, you can play coop. (IJKL and FGH for p2, IIRC - pretty awkward, but i usually play with 2 gamepads when i do coop... so yeah, sorry. Smiley ) Requirements: * Needs a decent CPU and a new-ish 3d card. (there's a software-only version coming, but it's not done yet Smiley * If you don't see any textures (just a bunch of white squares all over the place) run it on the command line with '-OpenGLTextureHack' as a parameter, that should fix it... Also, give him some feedback Enjoy!
Hey, that's pretty awesome. Nice physics engine, ability to grab so you can mess with it, simple and easy combat. Everytihng about this game's just right.
Wow! This is awesome! I have really needed a new experience and this is all just baked to perfection in a mouth watering, glazed pie. *Sprints to bakery*
Hah, a delightful game to play!
The current art style is great in my opinion, kind of reminds me of Crayon Physics. Just needs a bit more AA and polish. Edit:
Hah, a delightful game to play!
Here here old chap. Now, let's open up some Ribena.
Great game, but I have a request. Could you change the zxc bindings to space shift ctrl or so? Some have a QWERTZ keyboard set up and it fucks over the controls.
Agh, it's being a fidgety bastard. Apparently loading the map results in fuck all.
Cool. Gonna try this.
I got hold of a newer version, which lagged like hell. Nah, I'll pass.
Wow, that was really good fun actually. For some reason, I really liked the grabbing mechanism. Also, did anyone else notice that the bar at the top that showed how many coins you had collected is essentially just the same as the counter in Lego Indiana Jones or Lego Star Wars, but more scruffy looking?
From the sound of things, it's good. But when I play the map, the guy runs off the the left and keeps going against the wall and I can't go right.

This was actually totally awesome. I liked the grabbing and swinging puzzles. I think it would be cool if there were more opportunities to kill enemies with physics rather than boring ol' guns.
Also, did anyone else notice that the bar at the top that showed how many coins you had collected is essentially just the same as the counter in Lego Indiana Jones or Lego Star Wars, but more scruffy looking?
My thoughts exactly.
Love this
The grabbing reminded me of Little Big Planet.
make more, I beg you.
Is this made by the guy who made Jello car? if so, AWESOME!
Can you change the controls? If not, screw it. I have a QWERTZ keyboard. :(
Upload your levels guys! :D

I want new levels :( I can't change objects in editor (german keyboard)
woohoo i can balance
I think the guy should melee if you press attack and he has no gun.
New versioN! http://www.4shared.com/get/55068540/63717916/Release176.html;jsessionid=FA4E58C41CF5FED6E134E8A6257EE5F1.dc61
Sweet. The levels in that new version are awesome. I like that he has the robots from Duke Nukem 3D in there.
For those who said i should change the controls and such don't ask me. I didn't make the game. Go to the link i posted in the first post. The one that said "Original thread"
What the hell. I get crysis like fps :s I'll pass this. Why do you need good hardware anyway for something this?
Game lags as hell. What's texture hack?
What the hell. I get crysis like fps :s I'll pass this. Why do you need good hardware anyway for something this?
Use the texture fix shortcut Also, this is really fun. Where's this "editor."
Very fun, you should update the direct downloads to the newest version of the game. I love the art style, I hope it doesn't change much.
