Illfonic have just released Nexuiz on XBLA; a fast-paced arena FPS that uses the incredible CryEngine 3, and takes a lot of inspiration from games like Quake III and Unreal Tournament.
Sounds marvelous, doesn't it? Unfortunately it has its fair share of problems and foremost of these is the complete lack of players, which makes finding online games very time-consuming.
After playing Nexuiz for a couple of days and getting fed up with the shoddy matchmaking, I put my thoughts together in the following video (alongside some gameplay):

I haven't heard anything good about this game.
I haven't heard anything AT ALL about this game...
It would be played by more people if it came on pc.

Yup, without a doubt. I'm surprised we haven't seen an announcement for the PC / PS3 release dates by now.
Then again, THQ don't seem to be doing a great job at advertising Nexuiz so far...
Doesn't look that great to me honestly, another generic Quake clone.
Do you expect it to sell well when it is a cash-in on the name of an existing OPEN SOURCE game?
I remember playing PC Nexuiz like years ago
the XBLA version looks like crap
from the videos i've seen it looks very pretty

they will put this on steam, we just dont know when yet
So it's basically Quake and UT3 except....different?

openArena, Cube, Cube2, Nexius (PC open source version)
SO MANY OPTIONS
I like how there's a nuanced bunnyhopping mechanic but nobody utilizes it in reviews or preview videos because bunnyhopping and aiming with a controller is almost impossible.
Nice move there guys.
"Fast-paced" FPS.
On a controller.
Bunnyhopping could very easily be made to work but twitch shooting is never going to happen on a traditional controller, at least at sensitivities where you can maintain control of your character.
But sounds like a concept that could work if given a lot of work.
