Does anyone know a good video recorder for games? It has to be free. WeGame doesent work with audio for me. Anyone ideas?
Xfire
FRAPS is defiantly the best, but costs money. Camstudio is free, but is pretty lousy. I would love a good one just as much as you guys, so I think I'll lurk around this thread.
Playclaw is also good but it also requires money.
ZDsoft?
Best bet is buying the full version of FRAPS. All the other recorders either record for a small amount of time, add a watermark, or don't even record sound.
(Free) CamStudio Taksi Debut Video Capture XFire WeGame HyperCam 2 (Paid) FRAPS Camtasia Playclaw
i tried camtasia trail but the window kept popping up minimizing my game :c
Activate Stereomix for wegame to record sound.
Just use Fraps with a watermark if you don't want to buy it.
FRAPS, definitely fraps. Everything is just so much easier with it. You can pick the frame rate you want to record at, half size, full size, it also records sound even with a USB headset. I wont switch to anything else again. I was a fool for using Wegame for years.
Only issue I have with fraps is the huge file size. I'd recommended it, though. You could crop the watermark from the shot if it bothers you.
Fraps
LiveStream Procaster if you don't mind it being broadcasted live first, and they only usually take 1gb for an hour of footage.
WeGame. Everything is automatic!
Wegame is one of the better free recording programs out there, i've been using it for a good 2 years now and it hasn't let me down.

It has a built-in compressor and it works pretty well.
Record a demo and pre-render the video yourself in-engine or FRAPS.
A webcam. :v:
Wegame
fucking xfire
xFire if you're not bothered about quality in any sense and only want to post stuff on xFire Wegame if you want higher quality but it's only postable on wegame.com Fraps if you want high quality, thought it can be a little fidgety ( I own fraps myself ) And can be posted on many sites (YouTube, Vimeo, whatever floats your boat.) Personally I prefer Fraps, you need a decent computer thought to handle the filesize and the slight FPS drop.
Out of all video recorders, Fraps is the best, but since it costs money you choose the next best thing and that is Xfire.
Use FRAPS if you have an extra internal physical hard drive where you can record videos to, otherwise you'll get bad framerates when recording. Other option is Xfire.
Free Good Pick one As is nearly almost the case with free stuff.
Alien Swarm... free and good?
it's free.
Fraps 1.9D is freeware. Only drawbacks are that it's outdated and can't record sound, though you can probably use Audacity to record sound and then sync it with the video later. However, you can record for as long as you want.
