For those of you at 80; how did you manage to grind through 80 levels of the same quests, creatures, etc?
To me it gets very repetitive, but the dungeons / raids were sometimes fun. I got to 70 then gave up cause 70-80 was way slower than 60-70 ( yes, I did 60-70 during BC times, not WOTLC ) .
How did you guys cope?
the only agonizing grind that I actually NOTICED in the game was from level 51 to level 58, from there it was smooth sailing and I thought it was a lot of fun

Wasn't worth it.
51-58 is fucking awful.

Go back to english klass.
i found 40-58 to be the worse.
i found 40-58 to be the worse.
Agreed, the places for leveling suck at those lvl.
I would get a level, not play for a week, then get another level, not play for a week, etc.
I would get a level, not play for a week, then get another level, not play for a week, etc.
This is how bad players play.
Stop thinking about it, throw on some music, and quest your heart out for a few hours a day. You will hit 80 in a week and a half.

40 - 48 wasn't too bad, ZF was hella fun
i found 40-58 to be the worse.
I agree. Trying to get from 57-58 was infuriating. Seemed like I'd done all the quests everywhere.
When levelling, always read the quests, get in on the lore and shit. Let the game tell you it's stories. I find increasingly that people just download questhelper or carbonite, and accept quest, complete objective, turn in quest without even glancing at what the story behind that quest is. Questing like that is so boring.
This is how I do it for leveling-
Go to quest hub collect a whole bunch of quests and go around doing them all at once- not returning to the town unless I really have to. Then I got turn in all the quests at once which will generally put me up a good half a level or so. In this way I can see myself making good progress.
Also I do alot of instances which is one of my favourite parts of the game and plus it breaks up questing nicely.
However, when you get to 80 the only real advice I can give you is stick on some music and grind. If you can mass pull to make it go quicker and make sure that you make maximum profit for it then it can be bearable.

The only things you should be grinding at all at level 80 are quest mobs for gold, humanoids for cloth, so you can make stuff out of it and sell that for gold, or the Nascent Val'kyrs in Storm Peaks because their 100% gray drops for... gold.

And gathering profs.
But I only meant the mass pulling thing for mobs obviously.

So having a life makes you a bad player? Unfortunately i couldn't spend every day of the week just grinding through quests because i actually have shit to do. I'm terribly jealous of you.
I found 1-2 the worse part. :(
1-58 just keep trucking along doing quests. I found that running instances a lot made it really fun though. 70-80 is just a pain, nothing makes it seem good.
I played the game. It is fun.
I played the game. It is fun.
God damn it Haxxer stop that shit.

Got referred by a friend, it's great fun and gets you to endgame pretty quick.

hurr durr
I love this excuse.
3 hours in the evening before you go to bed does not constitute you wasting your life. Get over yourself baddie.
[editline]03:42PM[/editline]
Also, ever since we got this section, people have been using ratings since we got this section. They keep giving me sad faces, it hurts. :frown:

I agree, if you can't take a few hours out of your day for what you should know is time consuming, you're an idiot and should stop playing. Reason: you're going to quit half way through.

and leveling pets if you're a hunter, but you should be farming profitable mobs.
my favorite place to farm is the fire revanants in the hodir anvil in storm peaks. they drop crystallyzed fire and relics of hodir which sell for a boatload, random greens which i disenchant, and the greys vendor for a good price.
i get about 500g an hour, but i only farm if i'm leveling up pets.

just keep stomping on those fucking questgivers' dicks and tell them to give you xp and gold
1-70 was fun and didn't take too long. but I agree 70-80 is a lot slower for me. I'm currently at 76 and I haven't been playing too often since it takes me forever to level. Quests are boring and theres no one on my server to do instances with. Most of my friends out leveled me and are already 80. It sucks.

Quests are quicker than instances unless you have a group to do them over and over.
Alright, QuestHelper add-on. It helps A ton with leveling. I used to level like this (All the way to 74): Pick up tons of quests, select the first one, jump to wowhead.com, check it out there, and do it. Next quest, wowhead.com, and all over again.
Then I downloaded QuestHelper, it shows a route which is ideal to go through. It circles through all the quests and gets you back to the questhub for turn ins. You don't even need to think about anything, just mindlessly do the quests, without too much thinking effort. + Music. You'll get over it.
On my first character i took my time with 1-60 then i got a raiding guild, so when TBC came out, i had to level fast to get raiding again, same with WotLK, though i done 70-80 alot faster than i done 60-70 :D
and doing quests is definatly not grinding :p
65-70 i done hardly any quests, just sat killing for hours on end
