nVidia win contract for Nintendo's next handheld
Though the Nintendo DSi was only released this year, news on Nintendo's next handheld have emerged on BSN via a "confidential source". Nintendo are working with graphics card developers nVidia for their future portable gaming console, the company developed the Microsoft Zune HD Player and has helped create several smart phones. The next-gen handheld is said to feature a major boost in power and will be able to support Wii standard graphics whilst still having a low battery consumption, they also plan to make it backward compatible with Nintendo DS titles. Nintendo's future handheld device is apparently expected to be released late next year in Japan but until Nintendo make an official statement take this for what it is.

Shove a Fermi into it. Amazing graphics for a handheld, but 5 seconds (being optimistic) battery life.
3DS is definitely gonna be the ultimate PSP killer. Can't wait.
Wow, nice one of Nintendo there to secure Nvidia! Hopefully the obvious PSP2 will be a reasonable competitor so I can have both!

At least Nvidia products work and their drivers recognise they're plugged in.
Oh and they know how to label things in a logical order.

Can you people stop arguing over which company is better for this? Nvidia won the contract, now Nintendo is going to tell them exactly to what specifications to make the chip. If ATi won, we'd end up with more or less the same fucking thing.
