• Looking for good time-killing games which I can play on a Laptop.

Going away for a week to Scotland with family. I'll have plenty of shit to do in the day, but I know I'm gonna be lacking the night-life, and probably have no internet. I'm bringing my laptop so I can play games when I inevitably finish all my books and are still awake 'til the early hours of the morning. On my lappy I have C&C: Tiberian Dawn, Tiberian Sun, and Red Alert 3. I also have Doom3 but it's pretty sloowww. Oh, and Audiosurf. Also Baldur's Gate & Neverwinter Nights are knocking around somewhere... My lappy is, well, typical integrated graphics affair with a single-core 2Ghz celeron, yay. So it can't handle much in the way of graphics. There any other games it's imperative I bring with me? I don't care whether they're old, indie, or abandonware. FPS'es and RPG's are my kinda' thing, by the way.
Heroes of Might and Magic 3 is a really good classic. So is Age of Empires (the campaign is so much fun.) Edit: Also, the Diablo series. That will last way more than a week. Haha
Doom 1/2 are great.
Europa Universalis II and Hearts of Iron II are good. If you integrated GPU can support Shader 2 then get EU3. Also, get ScummVM and play some old Lucasarts adventure games.
Shall I say it?
Shall I say it?
I dare ya. :smug:
The Scribble Ninja Series is great, check them out here: http://www.fratelliproductions.webs.com/ Also, S.T.E.A.L.T.H is shaping up well, too.
Don't you ever realize how unwanted your shit is on the VG section?
lolol bandwagon
lolol bandwagon
It's not a bandwagon if everyone hates a piece of shit. Anyways back on topic: Elona, Doom 1/2, Duke Nukem 3D, Daggerfall, Spelunky.
lolol bandwagon
One person isn't a bandwagon.

Fable: The Lost Chapters worked well on my old crummy laptop. Sim City 4.
Evil Genius, it's always fun to see a spy be tortured by having to watch the moonwalk.
Plants vs Zombies. So addictive.
Killing Floor or any Unreal Tournament 2004 based game. Thief 3: Deadly Shadows Thief 2 is you don't have Pixel Shader 2 and value speed
Dwarf Fortress.
Bejeweled Twist. Puzzle Quest games. Maybe try seeing if Quake Live will work.
Diablo two
Pocket tanks is like, the definition of a time-killing game. You can start it up, play for 5-10 minutes and just stop whenever you feel like it. http://www.blitwise.com/ (Not free, but there's a demo) Something in the Worms series could also be good. Any kind of scorched-earth game fits the bill pretty well. There are lots of cheap ones, and they're never very graphically demanding.
OpenTTD Roller coaster tycoon 1/2
Solitare or Minesweeper.
OpenTTD Roller coaster tycoon 1/2
This. Especially with the expansions.
as stone555 said, Rollercoaster Tycoon 2. Though you might have a little trouble finding it at the store. [editline]07:56AM[/editline] Some tycoon game, since they last quite a long time.
One person isn't a bandwagon.
Unless they're one really fat person with multiple personality disorder or something Edit: Diablo II is amazing as has been said, and Warcraft III has a buttload of awesome mods.
Any GTA before IV (San Andreas, Vice City, III, 2). Return to Castle Wolfenstein, Postal 2. Also, if you've got Half-Life, get some mods for it. Those should all run fine, maybe. If you're okay with racing games, I'd suggest Colin McRae Rally 2005. It's only 5 dollars on GOG.com. It works alright with a keyboard too, and using it on a laptop isn't a problem, since it doesn't even support the mouse, I think. The only problem is that you might not be able to run it.
Stronghold. It's an awesome castle sim, the best there is.
If you have D2 and LOD, check out this mod. http://modsbylaz.hugelaser.com/
Sins of a Solar Empire runs fairly well with everything set to low on a integrated graphics card.
Dward Fortress. Crazily indepth game, build your fort and dick around. High learning curve. http://www.bay12games.com/dwarves/ N. Platform ninja game, fun but hard. http://www.thewayoftheninja.org/n.html
