You can research and build oil derricks, power turbines and all sorts and this game has minor yet very good water physics and spreadable fire. There have been times where I've forgot to get or make metal barrels to store oil in which would result in it pouring around my base and if it cough fire then you're doomed. And the good thing is it's free to play! I'm going to be hosting a server with Oilwars since that was fun, but I may host other games such as Nuclear and Future base. I've been playing this a bit lately. It's kinda fun. I hate how the clonks move though, jumping and moving around just feels odd.

I played this a while back, It will make you rage because the controls are so bad.

Once you get used to the controls this game is really awesome.

I use the numpad keys all the time to control my Clonks customized in settings to my own liking Only in the menu's I generally use my mouse.

This game is awesome if you speak German, otherwise it blows. All the fan sites, maps, mods, and players are German and finding an online game is near impossible. If you got some friends that are going to buy it together you should be OK, but if trying to play a large castle vs castle match in the medieval mod just isn't going to happen.

Is it possible to enable joining while the game is running?

I had an awesome round on the underwater map with some FPers a year or so ago.

I tried the demo ages ago and it was great, powder physics with mining, base building, physics if I remember right, etc. But you couldn't save your game in that demo, can you do that now?

Yes you can , you can even play multiplayer and if you join to some match with registred only maps you can still play them and stuff.Very time consuming game I have to say, but great otherwise :v:

Yeah, it's not a quick game to play. I never really got into a multiplayer game but it's definitely time consuming. And apparently you still can't save on the unregistered version, which sucks. Even the first "get all the gold" mission is a bit long to do all at once, let alone any of the others.

Multiplayer is the best fun I've had in a game in such a long time. Honestly, spending hours building a really complex underground base(s) is great. One time, in oil war, me and my friend built two bases on opposite sides of the map. We later added a metal floored "train track" and bought a train with a few wagons. It was incredible. If I ran out of an item, I'd ask if I could buy it from him, he'd say sure if he had any, or "afraid not" if he didn't. We had a really awesome base each, and we had a really good working trade system. I'd just pop down to the train, collect my items, then send the money back to him. Was great. I would love to get back into this, sadly, I'm really OCDish and I gotta play with people who keep their bases really neat and stuff, else I get frisky. I don't mind if they build their own base how they want, but if we collaborate in building a base, I strictly want it neat and tidy and stuff, really annoying :p Wish they made it easier to micromanage, so in Knight games, you could control your men easily, rather than just sending them left or right to fight enemies.

Any particular reason why the theme song reminds me of The Boblins intro music? It might be something else too, though.

Where do I find the oilwars mod?

There's many versions of Oil Wars, but I uploaded one of the versions I had. [url]http://filesmelt.com/dl/Oilwars_RevolutionsV15.c4s[/url] In my opinion, that's the best one for multiplayer, as there's not much bugs in it and not much extra useless crap added onto it. If you don't want to download it there for any reason, you can just join a server with it on, and it will automatically download it for you. Also, I'm really shit at Oil Wars, I was vsing some others on it and they managed to take out my whole base and all my clonks with just one guy.

Is it's predecessor Clonk Endeavour any good, because I don't really have any money right now - but the demo is pretty fun.

CE is alright, pretty much the same game with outdated graphics. Only thing that sucks about CE is the fact it's got really annoying controls. If you press A to go left, the Clonk keeps going left till you either press down or another direction. That, and not many people play CE.
