• Starting a source mod starts HL2 EP2 instead

I started a mod with the 2007 SDK (since the 2009 engine doesn't support it yet) and I've been using the 2009 hammer/faceposer etc with it. So far it's all gone without problems. Today I got access to use a laptop at school (which I'm on right now) and I found that when I transferred my mod files over from the SourceMods folder on my home PC, clicking on my mod only starts up Episode 2. In an attempt to trace the problem I made another mod using the 2007 SDK (named 2007modbase) and found that even with a mod created on the spot I still encounter the same problem. The mod works fine on my computer at home, and yet not on this one. Any help would be appreciated.
Single player mods created on the 2007 engine with the "Single Player" option, use Episode 2. It's Half Life 2 when you use it on 2006.

This laptop has a chipset that steam does not recognize, so a window would pop up warning me about performance problems. Being the lazy bastard I am, I just clicked through it every time instead of checking the "do not show this again" box. Once I did that, after trying again starting up my mod it worked.
