Hi, I was just wondering if I would be able to run fallout 3 on my pc.
I have recently checked the 'Can you run it' website, but the results
were pretty much inconclusive.
Here are my system specs:
Intel Core 2 Duo 2.2Ghz
2GB System RAM
NVIDIA 4800GS series, 512MB RAM
DirectX 10
Thanks for any help.
yeah but depends on the resolution of your screen
You can run it no problem.

He can run it how ever he pleases, if he cranks up his resolution to high he might notice a big drop in frames per second.
I'm think he can run it at 1920x1080 might not have the highest fps but it will work.
Also the results would depend on 8800GTS 8800GT 8800GTX ect.
I think its GTS .... what standard would I be able to play at? e.g high , medium , low ..
Fallout 3 isn't really resource intensive,I was able to run it on 7800GS on medium/high 1280x1024 without antialiasing no problem
You should be able to run it on medium no problem, depending on how CPU dependent it is though.
Fallout 3 worked just fine on my rather old 6200SE with 1GB of ram.
However if you want to run it at high resolution or very high quality you might want to upgrade your graphics card, you can get a decent 9 series card for under £100.
Hey guys can I run Fallout 3 too? :smug:
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.4GHz
2GB RAM
MSI GTS250, 1024MB RAM
DirectX 10
It's a bit silly how you have to ask this when your specs are quite respectable.

On a somewhat related note;
Is 2GB RAM enough or will 3 or 4 be better?

Yeah and why are Acer so keen on putting Quad CPUs in their business/consumer desktops?

I am not sure what my resolution is exactly but I know that I am using a 32" samsung tv.
How do you even play games at such a huge resolution? D:
Nausea & confusion much?
I could run Fallout 3 with Nvidia 7400 GT or something on my old PC. And the settings were on medium.
And it was DX9. And single core.

That gives me good prespective thanks :D
I just found out that its a:
Nvidia 8400 GS 1GB RAM
How badly does this affect the graphics ?
You *should* be able to play it on high settings.
You should probably be able to play it on max;
I run it on max with an X1800, and a pentium D dual core CPU. 2 GB RAM.

Thanks for everyones replys!
By the way, how many ghz. is your dual core... and is D better or worse than 2 ? Thanks
p.s , are you taking into account I use a 8400GS ?
Also to everyone... my resolution is .... 1360 by 768
Thanks all.
Pentium D sucks compared to Core 2.
You'll be able to run FO3 maxed or close to it, maybe not with AA at max.

Still with an 8400GS?
8400GS?
Yeah, medium.
Good , as long as it look quite good I don't mind :D
Any computer can play it at any resolution, but if it is an old clunker, you might get somewhere around negative 20 FPS. My friend has a GeForce 6200 FX (or something bad like that) and he loved Fallout 3 so much he played the whole game in a 2 inch by 2 inch window so that his computer could handle it.
And you believed him?
Is there a reason for it being laggy (just a litte to be noticeable)when I'm out in the wasteland even though my computer can more than handle it?
This is happening to me too, i guess it's custom textures or mods.
