• TheBattleMap.com : A new web game that adds persistence and more strategy to LoL, CoD, and more

I am a brand new user so I'd first like to say hello Facepunch! Long time reader of the Garry's Mod forums but first time poster. Anyway... I'd like to introduce my newest web game that I think you might enjoy. It's at www.thebattlemap.com and its a strategy game, much like RISK, where the outcomes of matches in your favorite games (LoL, CoD, etc..) effect a persistent map. If you've played on Game Battles it's a similar concept except a lot more interactive and a lot more fun! But TheBattleMap is no where near as polished as Game Battles. That's where you come in. Alpha registration is now open and I'd like to get as many users/clans registered before opening up some maps (hopefully this weekend). I'd appreciate it if you stopped by to have a look. If you think you might be interested make sure to register an account so I can see the kind of numbers I have before the maps open. If it doesn't catch your eye, thanks for taking the time to read this anyway!
This looks cool, I guess. I set it up for League of Legends.
Awesome! Thank you for your interest, brother! I really appreciate it! See you on the battlefield
I might consider trying to bring this to the attention of my clan soon. Seems like an idea that someone did with that one mod Empires, but with an actual system in place rather than a human scorekeeper to manually switch the board around.
Cool that'd be great! I used to play Empires all the time but I haven't heard of that mod. Do you remember the name of it?
This actually sounds like a really interesting concept. I like it. Also, as a friendly warning, the community here doesn't like it when you sign posts and threads. :v: ~Funcoot~ <-- I'd remove it. :)

First maps are opening up pretty soon. It might be a little ghost town-ish at first but I'm hoping the member base will grow to the point that finding matches will happen more smoothly.
I don't know about you, but wouldn't it work better if there was say, a home base feature (Opposing team capping that Hex(Or multiple base hexes)=Win, but requires it to be surrounded to attack), and the map split between the teams evenly at the center to start off, rather than the camo-pattern-esque arrangement of team hexes we have now? [editline]23rd March 2012[/editline] Although, hell, we still have to see how it works out like this before I judge it.

The pattern right now is actually symmetrical vertically. Its just a jumping off point. I have a bunch of features like this planned for the future though. The home base idea, territory resources, defensive structures...the list is pretty long. I'm just nailing down the foundation right now. I've also talked to a few friends about improving the graphics (not my strong suit). Because, lets be honest, they look like butt haha
Just going to say this, but a 4v4 map would work much better for the competitive scene that would be attracted to TBM. http://thebattlemap.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=19
