"Oh man, I didn't think that I would be using the same style of title so soon. This time, GAME will be over as the retailer is currently up for sale. The UK based retailer entered a downward spiral after a chain of not being able to supply major titles such across various platforms.
This month alone, GAME has been unable to stock EA's Mass Effect 3 nor Capcom's Street Fighter X Tekken and Asura's Wrath titles. Last month, they didn't stock none of Ubisoft's launch titles for the Vita. By not stocking Mass Effect 3, GAME has lost ~£2 million, which is a huge blow to anyone.
If you think you're fit for running a gaming chain and have the money for it, go for it. Get it done before the rumor of GameStop buying GAME becomes true, if and when it does."

truly a terrible loss for all of the world
How comes they still dont stock battletoad?
Aww I have £45 worth of vouchers.

Best use them soon then.

On all the crazy bargains.
Good, they suck anyways.
maybe its the split of who they cater for
35% xbox
35% playstation
15% DS
10% wii
5% pc
and they question why online sellers (steam, amazon, play.com) rule the market
more like 0.1% for PC
more than half of their stuff for it is shitty tycoons and simulators
part is WoW and part is comprised entirely of sims 2 expansion packs (except the one you want)
Game Over.
Best get that £50 gift card spent, then.
Apparently they're having massive sales to get people buying stuff. Since they stock approximately no real PC games, I really don't know what I'd get.

People have jobs there, people who could soon be back onto the nightmarish conditions of trying to get a job.
Don't be a dick, you may not like the company, but people make a living by working for them, and some are going to be in trouble now.

Buy a load of cheap games and then sell them on eBay for profit.
Shit no wonder they didn't respond to my job application :v:

While you are correct about how much it sucks for people to lose there jobs, seeing a company that has been ran by greed and awful business practices go under just feels amazing. I hope Gamestop follows in the footsteps of GAME.

Considering that almost every company on the face of the earth is run by greed (there is no reason to run a profitable company otherwise really), this is a pretty stupid post.
My friend told me over steam they were selling Deus ex human revaluation augmented edition for £8
Shame I was going to Pre-order Resident Evil ORC from them.
But I still think GamePlay is a bigger lost. Probably didn't help them buying out their stock either.
But none the less where will us UK gamers buy their games retail now? Game Station is under the same flag as Game. Every where else sells them over priced for AAA games. It's normally over £40
Still they didn't do no favours for the PC market.
Could be Karma. Hopefully Steam won't hold off on pre-orders for us now Game is going bust.

i was being 100% serious wtf man

Still sounds sarcastic to me.
All the games I wanted to buy from them have sold out due to the whole gigantic price drop. Both online and in all the stores near where I live. Damn annoyed about that.
If no one buys them, then the UK aren't going to have a nation-wide game retailer, are they? GameStation are owned by Game so they'll go too most likely, the only thing close is HMV and maybe CEX but they only deal in pre-owned things.
I went to check out the sales at my local branch, banners were all over the windows advertising the massive "spring clean sale".
Angry Birds PC - £9.99
Skyrim - £42.99
UK Coach Simulator - £29.99
Pre-owned Soul Calibur 5 - £37.99
DC Universe Online - £29.99
It was generally pretty damn bad, the reductions were incredibly tiny, seems my branch is still trying to hold on.

It seems to be largely store by store, the two stores in Norwich have shit all sales on newer releases and first-hand copies. But second hand games have a decent amount knocked off most times. The PC section is sparse as usual, with a few new games that are good, but full price, and tons of old games that are cheap anyway.

Pre-owned for £38?! Jesus christ, I wouldn't see even a fresh game for that much on my local GAME retailer's shelf.

If I want old games which were/are good and cheap at the same time, i'd head on over to CEX, they stock a good amount of old yet amazing games, albeit it differs from shop to shop but mine stock some amazing games ranging from Star Wars Battlefront to the old Doom games.
I have a feeling they might take their business online like Woolworths did or Game Stop will make a come back.

CEX is pretty good for quite new games too. They actually seem to price their stock decently.
