As I wrote in the title, HL2, when launched, will just revert to a stretched screen with the vista circle saying it's loading, no valve logo, no crash, no startup. The Task manager says it's not responding.
Problem is all my other games are running perfectly, like Portal, HL2: EP2, etc.
Help?
Start Half-Life 2 again and just let it sit. Come back later and it should be working. When it's run for the first time, it has to compile shaders or something like that, I forgot. You'll have to give it a while to sort everything out.

Yeah, that computer is perfectly capable of running the game if my integrated chip set laptop can.
I was pretty sure, I ran Minerva at all High, HDR and stuff on, all it a smooth 30, or smoothly, don't know the FPS because I didn't look or care at the time.

It loads the background then crashes.
