So a few days ago me and a friend got talking about how our every day lives have been affected by video games. It turns out they have really screwed with our minds, for example:
-After playing COD4 loads in the summer holidays I would oftern walk into a room and hear the sound of a bouncing grenade, this freaked me out especially when I went into to the bathroom at night.
-I can also remember, years ago, playing a lord of the rings game in which when you died the eye of Sauron would appear on the screen. When I closed my eyes the image would sometimes appear.
-My friend also said when he was addicted to sims he would see his feelings as the would be displad in the menu, E.G if his was full he'd see his hunger rating as being high or if he needed the bathroom his bladder rating low.
So How have video games screwed with you facepunch?
After playing X3 Terran Conflict for too long I kept trying to open the property menu in my mind to tell my cat what to do.
Then I realised what I was doing and felt like a right twat.
They destroyed any chance I might have of a social life.

I thought audiosurf does that
They made me fat
Kinda ruined my social life, I have to hold talking about games inside myself, otherwise everyone hates me for no apparent reason.
Everytime when I was walking to school, I thought there was a sniper on a roof trying to shoot my head off :tinfoil: oh g
Usually when I get done playing counter-strike, my mom calls me in for dinner and I reply mainly with "affirmative" or "roger that."

Haha, that happens to me too!
I would have to say the main way is that they've made me dead inside.
For example:

Sorry about that I was just trying something out.
They made me rape my mother and kill my dog.

Well it was MOSTLY GTA
But in all seriousness, I remember when I was like 11, when Halo 1 first came out, how I was totally obsessed with that game and became like a total nerd on it. I could pretty much describe the entire way through the campaign.
I never thought you could manually reload the garand in real life

After a long bout of Spore I started to consider my relationship with different people in terms of the relationship smilies you get in-game.
I sometimes hear a witch crying D:
I tried to click on things to see what level they are and what type.
Whenever I do something important, I always try to press F6 to quicksave...
When i'm walking about in a train or something sometimes i look for the nearest exit incase i see a zombie
I've played Left 4 Dead so much so now my classmate reminds me of the witch...
I remember a few years ago when I played F.E.A.R. I was and still am freaked the fuck out by Alma, and that got a bit out of hand back then since I had a tiki that, when in the corner of your eye, looked almost exactly like Alma. :tinfoil:
Half Life 2 made me see gman all over the place. And i keep hearing a witch crying D:

I could have sworn I heard a Smoker cough today! Seriously, this man must have been a smoker.
Note: In case of zombie outbreak, I'll be sure to wear my hood. Hunters are so cool :D
Jesus christ you guys are screwed up.
Just kidding :D
After playing games like Silent Storm which have action points, I find myself going for the cookie jar thinking "Hmm... I wonder how much AP I would have to use to open that cabinet door."
Sometimes in my dreams, Advisors come looking for me to penis-tongue rape me. :tinfoil:
I used to reach out for the Q menu when I needed something. Still do sometimes.
Not really game-related, but sometimes I look to the lower right when I want to know what time it is after sitting a long time at the PC.
I sometimes have an imaginary Karma Gained & Karma Lost when doing something good or bad in real life. Sometimes when I screw up I thought I could Quick-load :v:.
This is also funny when I have a joyful moment like a some tasty food or going vacation I thought I could save my game :v:. Sometimes when I'm really sleepy I think there are jagged edges on some things I see.
