yeah i used to beable to record shit on fraps when i had xp, but then gmod crashed like hell because for some reason gmod crashes on xp, once i got windows 7, now my games never crash. HUR, but now i can't record shit with fraps or any other screen recorder for that matter. Anyone know why.

Windows 7 has yet to be released, that might be your problem.
windows 7 beta, whatever. By the way i get really good fps, over 150 but when i start recording it goes down to fucking like 10.
I use Windows 7 RC1 and FRAPS works great. Try downloading a new version of it.
