I haven't played for over a year (last july), and I am thinking of getting back into WoW maybe. The problem is that I'm probably way behind now, and I have no idea if I could catch up if I rejoined again. My gear isn't that great since I never raid etc. I'm thinking if I rejoin can I just move on with Cataclysm with the gear I have and go from there or what do you suggest I do?
WOTLK gear is about to not matter at all, so yes, you will be fine. This is the perfect time to start playing again because everyone will generally be on the same level.
Everything you have will be replaced by level 82 greens anyway, there's nothing to catch up to.
You would be far better off than the new people joining wow every day
Thats all true but is it really that bad if I missed all the raiding etc that happened in WOTLK? Also will all my spells be reset so I will have to place them all back onto the action bar?
No, why would it? In a month all WotLK raiding will be forgotten about, in fact it is nearly forgotten about now. Your talents will be reset, so they will be missing, but other spells should be there. So many spells would have changed since you've been gone, some removed, some added, you will probably want an action bar overhaul anyway.
Ok thanks, I think I'll probably go back and give it a shot even though it will take me a week or 2 to get back into the swing of things.
They even have a dungeon finder that looks for players across the realms for other party members, so if possible, go tank or healer
i got free day off bliz, check your email :)
