I recently bought UT3 and it's great, so I decided to try some mods for it.
So I decided to make a new thread about this awesome mod since the other thread(s) are all dead and no replies. I'll try and do a better one. I wanted to make this thread because the mod is amazing but it needs a lot more players.
[b]The Haunted[/b]
[i]First of all, this part here is not official information, this is what I think of the mod so far.[/i]
So basically it's kinda like Killing Floor where you have to survive against hordes of zombies, well not zombies in this case, demons and all kinds of creepy stuff. There are regular demons and several other diffirent classes with many varying abilities.
[b]Singleplayer/Coop mode[/b]
In the singleplayer/coop mode you take on the role as one of the survivors:

You start out with some basic weapons and then you have to try and find ammo for the more powerful weapons, which keeps you on the move and makes the gameplay more interesting rather then just camping at a spot. The demons come from everywhere so you better watch out.
[b]Battlemode - Demons Vs Humans[/b]
Battlemode is very simmilar to Versus mode in Left 4 Dead, I have not tried this yet since like I mentioned before, this mod needs more players!

One of the various demons in the game. This one in particular is simmilar to the Half-Life 2 fast zombie.
The game is played from a thirdperson perspective simmilar to the ones in RE4-5, for example you cannot shoot without zooming in. (I must admit I do not remember if you can move around whilst zoomed in) So it's quite diffirent from Left 4 Dead/Killing Floor, the perspective changes the feel of it a lot more than you'd expect. I personally thought the pace would be a lot slower at first because of the thirdperson camera and the aiming system. But it is fast and fun. But so far I have only played it on my own and I bet it's a whole lot more fun with more players!

[release]The Haunted is a fast paced thirdperson horror-action game with focus on a intense multiplayer experience that is all about making a stand and liberating cursed places from the minions of evil. The game features several multiplayer modes such as coop or demons .vs. humans where enemies are spawned and controlled by players. The outstanding visuals lay a perfect tone for the gameplay.
* Playing as human is action focused survival gameplay with a huge arsenal of weapons and melee attacks in the vein of Resident Evil, but with total freedom in movement and more intense, direct combat.
* Undead humanoid monsters come in many variations and approach from everywhere to give you the feeling of a real fight for your life. There is no place to hide, together or alone. In addition to that, watch out for dangerous traps and environmental hazards.
* Some multiplayer modes can have players taking control of vicious demon masters. Here you can spawn monsters and play them by yourself, or place traps and trigger the environmental hazards to create a unpredictable threat for the humans.

* Demonizer: Similar to coop, but each dead human will turn into a demon until no one is left.

So what do you think? If you have UT3 I highly advise you to try this mod out! It's great and one of the best looking total conversions for the unreal engine right now!
One last thing, I'd like some feedback on the thread, do you like it? Is there enough information? Is the thread good overall with layout and such? Please tell me and if you got any questions I'll gladly try and answer them!

TBH, the weapons look kickass, much more powerful than the weapons in kf or l4d, i just wish i had UT3

Also Humans Vs. Demons is pretty boring. It just turns into spamming highest units or those ball things.

Not many are playing I'm afraid. But download it so we can increase the amount!
Also I forgot to mention that players can control the Demons aswell like somebody mentioned and another mode where when you die as a human you turn into a zombie until there are no more humans left. Damn I want more players for this!
I have this installed right now. I haven't played in a while cuz it's hard finding other players, but when you do it's pure awesome.

Also a good description would be like RE5's Mercenaries Mode but more action-packed and with more people.
More like an overrated UT3 mod.
No servers at all, not really that fun to play, and it gets extremely repetitive.

This used to have like, 5-10 servers a month ago, and it [b]is[/b] awesome. I re-installed this and UT3 2 days ago, but all the servers have gone. So, we need a facepunch server. FAST

Indeed, I can't get a server myself though. Also it's really annoying, I removed the shortcut for the mod so now I can't start it. In ut04 you could start all mods from the game itself, I can't do that with ut3..

Anyway, I've not had a chance to play any UT3 mods lately because of my buggering CD Key errors that VALVe couldn't resolve and that Midway and Epic won't.
It's a decent looking mod without an actual community to play it.
Doesn't help that UT3 was a colossal flop either.

I have the same problem, my retail keys won't work with steam, and steam won't do anything without pics of the keys. Like I still have the boxes!

Well you don't have the same problem. I bought my UT3 on steam during the black sale, it worked for a few months then decided not to accepty my CD key. I verified that I had a valid CD key but they still couldn't do anything.
