I have been dieing to play it so I manage to get a copy of the game, but when I play it the colours go all messed up on the loading screens etc until I get ingame, but that isn't the main problem as they autofix once I start a game, the big problem I am having is the mouse is laggy, it jumps around and I ain't a clue what I can do to fix it, I changed the game to low res mode and it works fine but looks like pixelated shite.
I have searched high and low on google but nobody seems to really know, someone said try dosbox but I downloaded it and it looks too complicated for me :v:
Never heard of this game, if it's an old game, try running it in compatibility mode for Win 98. I had the same problem for the Fallout Demo, and that worked for me.
Ahhh good ol' theme hospital :v:
Specs and OS?
I used to play that all the time! :v:
Turn on hardware mouse if it's an option.

Plenty to run the game.

Try running as admin.
Or run in windows 2000/98 compatability mode.

Infact, reading about it, you might want to run it in Dosbox.
Lemme scrape up a guide.
http://vogons.zetafleet.com/viewtopic.php?t=8933
Tried running as admin even though I am the main account.
Tried all the compatability shit.
Also set my res to the lowest :(
DOSbox must be the only thing I havent tried cos it's so damn hard
This game was awesome.
Try different compatibility options. I'm able to run this game with normal colors and the mouse isn't laggy in windows 7 64 bit
What special settings do you use if any? Like what compatability? Also do you have a changing background or widgets on as that might effect it?
Dosbox seems overwhelming, but it's not hard. That guide is also pretty good, too.
However, for ultimate simplicity, get a frontend. There's links to several here: http://www.dosbox.com/wiki/DOSBoxFrontends
I would probably suggest D-Fend Reloaded, it seems suitable for beginners.
Thanks mate I will try this now and let you know how I get on

Still don't get it :/ try running it in that program but says it's a windows exe so it wont work..
turn on your user account control or UAC

WOOP got it working thanks man, well, mostly, I got the demo DOS version to work, just need the full DOS version now :v:
Turn your display colour to 16 bit
Ok got the game running in that D-Fend thing, no sound though, I found the sound setup and attatched it to the game in D-Fend but when I setup the sound it wont save my config file, any help please Suben?
I use DosBox manually, let me grab that frontend and have a go :v:
Thanks man
OK, what you need to do is edit your Theme Hospital profile you created, and point the "setup file" option to ".\SOUND\SETSOUND.EXE" (from your theme hospital folder), then choose "run setup". In that, select "Sound Blaster or 100% compatible" for both MIDI and Direct Sound options, and auto-detect when it asks.
I did but when it comes to saving it, it says the config could not be saved :(
Sounds like you installed the Frontend to somewhere with restricted write permissions. Reinstall it and choose the "Portable" option, and point it at C:\DOSBox or something :P
I am pretty sure I didn't, I ran auto installer.
The default options choose profile save locations either in Program Files or your User folder based on the Operating System. Portable puts those config files in the same folder as the frontend itself.
I'll reinstall it then, can't see it doing anything :/

fail :(
Sorry then, all I can suggest there is to try a different frontend instead if you are having problems getting this one to write the config file it uses.
I can say that I had no problems though. I used D-Fend Reloaded 0.9.3, and Theme Hospital (Full, I own the game from wayyyy back in the day :P) ran nearly flawlessly. (bit slow to quit is all)
I will try again on a different frontend then :/
I posted a thread about corsixth check it out
Must be the version of TH I downloaded as I got another copy and the sound works but the game doesn't lol, this is such a pain.

Already tried it, prefer the normal game, their version you start with too much and get overwhelmed.
Sorry, you need to Log In to post a reply to this thread.
