I stopped last year, it's a shit service, I have no idea how they got me to pay for the ability to play games online.
I hate how its really hard to end the service sometimes, i just get pissed off with it. But i still have it anyway because i cant not have xbox live :P
I think it's crazy to have to pay to play with other kids online. I don't do anything on live but play Halo Reach and watch shit on Netflix. No way in hell they can charge me for $50 a year for that shit... Yet they do.
I was paying for it monthly until my poorly made console recently broke yet again and I realized that unfortunately as much as I love Halo Reach this shit ain't worth it anymore. Service sucks, console sucks, and off-console account management sucks unless you want to give them more money, then it's easy as hell.
Used to do it 3 monthly, xbox died, had a ton of hassle getting my card info off the account (paid for about 9 months that i didnt use) then i bought a PS3 and now i dont pay monthly.

Then my first two 360s broke, and I couldn't cancel it without calling between shitty hours and trying to understand an Indian person on the phone.
