this is only really on sandbox games
mainly gmod/crysis editor and games like that
but i will spend ages building a huge castle/fort/fortified town and then set it up ready for invasion and spawn thousands of enemys, to [B]make sure[/B] that i will die in a holdout
Am i the only person that does this? because i love the idea that you might be able to get out of this sitiation alive, if your good enough but the chances are slim too none... more games should have this kinda thing imho (parts that really test your skill in massive firefights)
i mean, yeah.. i COULD enter a code and get the BFG9000 and wipe out the whole army in one hit, but where would be the fun in that? i would rather be up on the walls with a shotgun/bow/sword/pistol or something trying to stem the endless tide of enemys that will more than likely kill me
stuff like that just makes games more tense and scary and overall better, but that is just in my eyes.
tl; dr
there should be more holdouts against overwelming forces in games
and am i the only one that enjoys them?

Mount and Blade sounds like your kinda game.
No you're not, I do stuff like that in gta coop with friends. Also, it's that feeling, but then surviving, that makes l4d so much fun. The final waves have been some of the most intense moments in any game.

Yeah, capture an enemy faction's capital, and wait for the retaliation of an army 50x your size.
Have fun holding off 1500+ troops with your measly 50-80 (but elite) troops

Yes, helms deep is my absolute favorite in L4D.
But yeah doing your final stand is fun, particuarly when you do it with some friends and dont just get whiped out.
I do this all the time in gmod, spawn a million zombies around a base I made, then enable their ai. Its pretty fun actually.
