This isn't a technical error, its that the punkbuster website is down. Has it been down for a while or what? Is there a mirror i can download it from er something?

I don't know what you're talking about, I came from CoD4 a few hours ago, plenty of servers without punkbuster.

Punkbuster comes with the cod4 cd / download. It should have asked you if you wanted to install it when you installed the game. Just reinstall cod4 I guess.

You need to install punkbuster and set up it up manually, sometimes this happens.

I fucking hate punkbuster. It ALWAYS kicks people, and some of it looks like it isn't under their control to me. I like VAC, it's low-profile and works :)
Punkbuster bans me because of window 7's different versions of most windows api's.
And it sucks at protecting from hacks. For me Vac is a hell of a lot harder to make something that won't get you b&, but punkbuster is like childsplay.
Even most script kiddy tutorials teach you how to circumvent punkbuster as kinda a first timer thing.
I fucking hate punkbuster, have to run everything it's on as an administrator and usually can't run background programs.
Punkbuster works fine for me on Windows 7, I haven't been kicked in CoD4 by Punkbuster.
i have Battlefield 2, and i add it to the steam list, when i play the game from steam, it kicks me out every server, i posted it to the Punkbuster site and they say: you have cheat program enabled

Shouldn't it be the server admin's job to fucking ban someone?
Nevermind that Half life Mod dll files can sometimes cause a false VAC ban and you're fucked over. (Paranoia mod)

Paranoia's openGL DLL's cause VAC [B]warnings[/B] and nothing more, it's been proven may times.
Surely if you get VAC banned on a Half Life mod, it should only be THAT half life mod/game that refuses to run. Getting banned for a mod and having to re-buy all your games because Valve won't believe you would suck.
