Tomorrow I plan to head into town and purchase a PSP Go! bundled with a £50 PSN card.
Currently I know that I'm interested in the Go! because it is smaller than the PSP-3000 which is a plus for me since I'll carry it round in my pockets and not a bag. It's also a lot more battery efficient which is good considering my PSP-1000 is horrible for this.
The only things I'm peeved about is I'm gonna have to pay all over again for the only game I'd even consider re-buying, MGS: Portable Ops, and the fact I'll never be able to get deals on Pre-Owned games.
Now can FP help me with more pro's and con's?
PSP Go
PROS- It has built in bluetooth, faster internet, No UMD ( For UMD haters). All digital media. Comes with 16 GB of flash memory
CONS- Can't play any UMD's you may already own, most likely cant be hacked. Uses M2 (Memory Stick Micro) which can be easily lost and if you already own Memory Stcik Duo, you cant use it. More expensive, $249.99. Smaller screen.
Forget the Go. It's a waste of money.
Cons of the Go:
* More expensive.
* No new hardware.
* No UMD drive.
The last one is the deal breaker. All existing PSP games are on UMD. Sony has said they'll start putting more PSP games on PSN for you to download with your PSP 3000 or PSP-Go. Also all new games will be released on both formats as well. However, pricing for download games will be the same as the UMD version. This makes no sense. At least with a UMD, you can lend, rent, or sell the game. However with a digital copy, you can't do any of these. So if your friend wants to play that game you bought, he'll have to buy his own copy. While PC games have had digital download services for awhile, the digital copy always costs less than the physical copy. After all, you aren't getting a disc, paper manual, or plastic case. That all saves the company money, which translates into a lower price for digital copies. But Sony won't give you that discount. So why buy a game you can't lend/borrow/sell/buy/rent from someone when you can spend the same amount of money (or less!) and buy the same game on UMD.
It's a bit shit, buy a phattie.
Old ones are better
hell an iPad is better than a PSPgo
The PSP Go! is a piece of shit, don't buy one.
