My GTA:SA won't load. Steam verified the game content to be fully correct, and everything should be fine but it isn't. Neither the steam version 3.0 or the no-cd cracked version 1.0 works. With the steam 3.0 version, the screen flashes black, the windows 7 theme gives me a message saying it's gone to low settings, the screen flashes black again and then nothing happens. With the no-cd 1.0 version, nothing happens. Edit: Verified data once more, said 1 file was corrupted. I let it redownload and now when I start it, it loads for a little time, then nothing happens.
Are your video drivers up to date? It's such an old game, maybe Windows 7 doesn't support it?
Tried all the compatability modes avalible, none of them worked. Sorth of went "fuck it" and ended up downloading another copy off the web. Annoys me when a pirated version works better than the real deal. Edit: Deleted it from steam. I can't be bothered trying to get it to work, and shortcut-mode works just as good as the original.

delete gta_sa.set in your Documents\GTA San Andreas User Files folder. [editline]12:03AM[/editline] Oh seems I'm too late. That file contains info on your system hardware. A graphics driver update can invalidate that data, but SA was never programmed for that eventuality. If the file doesn't exist, SA scans your system again and creates a new one. Nothing to do with a pirated vs legit copy.
It works with Windows 7. I have it retail.
I've had a lot of problems with San Andreas with Win7, I gave up on it eventually
I also couldn't get gta:sa to work on windows7 professional 64bit.
So apparently the pirated version didn't work either, not even when using multiple no-cd versions (US/EU) I can't believe so many people can have problems with it, and that there's nothing to be done about it. I'll try deleting the gta_sa.set file when I get home though.

in a weeks time you'll regret buying it off steam due to lack of mods
I got Windows 7 and it works fine for me.
