My mom is a big fan of Harvest moon and currently played solitaire 24/7. I'm trying to find her a game that is laid back with minimal violence if not all. She's German so she can read both English and German if that matters. One problem is that she has trouble with some words as she puts it "My German translator in my head doesn't translate good in English."
All I find when I google "games like ..." show me Fable and other solitaire games. I just want her to stop playing solitaire and play something with a bit more fun involved.
If you find any good laid back games that would spark some interest in my mom based on the information I put down, please reply. Thanks!
My mother also can't have a game with a giant story involved. She's also not the person you'd expect to be a pro in World of Warcraft with all the skills. She just wants to do what has to be done and that's it. Leveling up is fine, but having 50 skills to invest in would be troublesome.
Bejeweled 3?
More addictive than WoW....more fun too.
Minecraft with the difficulty set to 'Peaceful' or Powder Toy.

Auto merge :frown:
Tetris.
Search "casual" on steam, plenty of games show up that might fit the bill, just need to sort through them to find what you're looking for.
Definitely minecraft on peaceful.
Yea, Minecraft on Peaceful is the best option, since the game has little to no text in-game.
Flotilla, Tetris, Peggle.
Manhunt.
I think I'll go and show her minecraft and bejeweled. Thanks. If you still have more games to recommend throw them at me!
Plants vs Zombies
Powder Toy is pretty good though, lot of English text though.
Super Meat Boy

Quake 3.
Animal Crossing x12
Fallout 3 or New Vegas.
I tried to find a game for my mom too, I looked through my old PC-games and I found Theme Park World.
And now she loves the hell outta that game :v:
