So yeah. I'm not exactly familiar with the 2000AD universe, but this game is about JUDGE MOTHERFUCKING DREDD and I'm sure you all know who he is (I AM THE LAW etc.) This game came out in 2003, got mediocre reviews. I redownloaded the demo just now on a whim and lo and behold, it's just as fun as it was 6 years ago. And holy fuck is it satisfying to play, despite the somewhat crappy graphics.
In the arcade mode (the most fun mode), there are rioters on the streets. Your job is to subdue the rioters using humane methods and get them off the streets.

One of my favourite things to do is to shoot people in the arms or legs while running up to them. It makes them stumble and then you can get in and unleash [b]THE LEFT HOOK OF THE FUCKING CENTURY[/b] (which kills people in one hit, as it rightly should)

Chuck Norris has nothing on Dredd. Holy fucking crap.
Some other cool things about this game :
-It'll run on your computer
-The ragdolls are hilariously shite
-People's heads explode if you shoot them
-There are laser guns
-You can burn people alive with the lawgiver (and they'll eventually become nothing more than a skeleton)
-The AI is a bit shite, but members of different gangs will shoot at each other (all the time, in fact) and even melee in close range (fucking hysterical)
-The voiceovers are annoying (wait, that's not cool)
-[B]There are no fucking irritating effects or flinching when you get shot[/B]
-The gun sounds are meaty and satisfying
-[B]You can shoot people's guns out of their hands[/B]
-There's fucking indestructible crates of red bull, I bet you want some red bull now
Best of all, at 149Mb, there's pretty much no reason for you not to try this out (arcade mode included!)

Technically, they have guns. But honestly they're fucking pussies, which makes it all the more fun to shoot them. Especially once you've shot the guns out of their hands and they're on the floor begging for mercy.

I have this game, but for some reason it always crashes on installation.
I remember this on PS2...It had vampires or some shit. And walrus sized women who had a wheel under there belly to support them. Good times, Downloading now.
I'll try it out later.

Hmm, shit, that's annoying.
I wonder if I have the right download link. I've had the demo installed on my computer for ages, so I dunno if that one is the same (I'd assume it was, though.)
Edit : Seems to be the same as the one on my computer. I remember when I played this on my old computer and it barely ran, and most of the HUD didn't show up for some reason.

I forgot to put that in the thread. I definitely had it in, but then Firefox crashed and I had to start over.
You can also press the C key to challenge people in the story mode. Nothing like yelling "HALT, LAWBREAKER!" AFTER you've killed everyone. God that's hilarious.

The demo was fucking awesome.
Just watched the cut scene. He looks like a bad cross of Captain Falcon, and Robocop. But the arresting people is FUN! Especially when you arrest them, then light them ablaze.
