Are you stupid or something?
Are you stupid or something?
No, it's not dying.

This thread is incredibly bad and you should feel bad for posting it. In response to the topic: Yes, to some degree. It's not "dying", but it's not nearly as good as it once was. Most games I have are console ports, and it shows when I play them. There aren't any PC exclusives that I care to play. Actually, come to think of it, every single game that I have installed besides Crysis, Crysis Warhead, and The Sims 3 are console games. It's not really a bad thing, but it's not good either. Most of the games feel as though they were dumbed down for consoles, most don't even feel like PC games at all because I'm all but forced to play with a 360 controller just so I can enjoy them. There's just too much piracy in PC gaming for devs to see the platform as a viable source of income. Thus, they are making the move to console exclusivity, with most games being ported to PC as an afterthought simply to make a quick buck on the side.
I rated you box for posting an relevant reply.
s'not. i swear.
PC has more lasting games. See WoW, CS:S, shit CS 1.6, Quake 3 for crying out loud, Warcraft III, Diablo 2, Starcraft... PC gamers don't need something new and fresh every damn moment of the day. It doesn't fuel the PC. We get new and fresh stuff every six months anyway. It's called hardware.

You can't count games that consist only of online multiplayer because of course people are going to be playing them long after the game gets too old to care about. Doom still has a huge online DM community. And who cares about having new hardware when you don't have any new games to play? "Boy, this new HD4870X2 is awesome, it runs the same games I've been playing just fine for five years."

Regardless of new and great hardware the games are still gonna keep sucking if they don't find a cure for consolitis. If I had a dollar for every time I'd say "this must be a slow year in PC gaming," I'd probably have about 2 dollars.
But see, it has something to do with alienware, so that makes it bad. Any smart PC gamer knows that alienware is a ripoff, moreso than Dell.
Alienware is something that goes over the top, not being a ripoff. It's for people who have too much money in their hands.
PC gaming has been dying for over ten years. Amiga was supposed to kill the PC etc. Look what happened.
Alienware is something that goes over the top, not being a ripoff. It's for people who have too much money in their hands.
Alienware is both over the top and a ripoff. [editline]08:48AM[/editline] Well, over the top for the most part.
Alienware is something that goes over the top, not being a ripoff. It's for people who have too much money in their hands.
Alienware is repackaged Dell machines in cases, with an extra 25-30% of the cost slapped on. This is a fact, by the way ;)
I think that big name game companies moving away from PC gaming is a good thing. The rest of the gaming industry (consoles) is being subjected to over-competition and being eaten by programmer's ego. Basically if you don't do what everyone else is doing then you don't last long, and that's causing a really bad sense stagnancy to develop. The PC as a gaming platform is in a unique position right now to move away from that mentality. It's an opportunity to move away from the "mainstream" idea that a game has be everything to everyone and move towards having a greater variety of games that each have a more specific audience focus. What PC gaming needs is more games like the X series and ArmA, games that don't try to be "one size fits all" and instead try to better satisfy a more specific target audience. By shifting focus away from making one game for everyone to making different games for different people there is an opportunity to do something that the console gaming industry has become too over-competitive to do.
its not.

It's so sad that no one has realized the truth.
It's so sad that no one has realized the truth.
Hey Frank_West, I knew I'd see you in here. Speaking of which, you STILL haven't beaten the post I made last time, and I know I'll be ignoring you until you take on every single point I made. Good luck.

It not dying. It's just not as popular as it once were. PC's are now for MMOs/CounterStrike
Good job at forcing an unfunny meme.
its not dying

They wouldn't be allowed to have it up there if it was wrong :colbert:
