Silverdale online is a SNES MMO rpg that is free to play.

The game is pretty fun for the most part. It is grindy, but I feel the game will get better with ever update that comes out. The staff are very nice and chat with people in-game all the time so you will get to know them soon. Plus this game has a small community and normally there are around 50 players on during peak hours. Another thing to mention is that this game has barley any info on how to get started. There is no wiki (yet) so if your lost post in here or talk in the chat and someone will be bound to help you out.

I tried this game out myself a few days ago, it wasn't bad, but I disliked the lack of even the most basic of character customizations, the sprites are pre-defined, you can't even choose different hairstyle and different haircolor, but the game itself was enjoyable.
