Deepforge, possibly the longest standing 2b2t settlement. - Games

Deepforge, starting late in July, several citizens of Boatmurdered departed their fair city to start anew, further out in the wilderness. They traveled for hours until reaching land they could call home. What began as the town of Forge, so named for the initial use of massive amounts of furnaces to mold our stone buildings, eventually thrived. Some left, others arrived. Names such as PoliceMike55, Popbob, McShmeggy, Mindule, Wilko, and KiwiWololo came and went. Eventually we broke into a ravine rich in minerals and space. At my behest we began to transition ourselves back below the surface, as we once had done in Boatmurdered. We were dwarves at heart with heart that yearned for the stone. And so we dug, and molded the ravines to our will, we tiered them thrice, we allotted space for all who may come. But, over the time, few came. and fewer stayed. The months rolled by and eventually only two stayed. Myself, and Kiwi. So updates came and went, we began to emerge from our depths, for the first time in nearly 4 months I say that square sun, in that awful blue sky. And I began to build a tower to the heavens from which I could see all who may approach. It was built, and it was good. A garden atop it, stone from hell itself adorning it while my mechanized golems patrolled it's heights. It was perfect, but also lonely. So I decided to forsake the rituals of invitation and spam the coordinates among the highest winds for all to hear and all to come. But before that I would document what I had wrought here. If you want this to continue being the longest surviving settlement, you shouldn't have revealed the coordinates. Just saying.

There are probably longer surviving settlements underground. Its the only really safe place to build stuff.

I thought Facepunche's presence 2b2t was completely dead after the "Great Culling" by the guy who was constantly hacking and the "The Scattering" that happened soon after. I still wonder if anyone found my Golden Record hidden deep within one of the ruined bases.

Well it's not the longest standing. There was a 4chan town that survived: January 24th 2010-JANUARY 13th 2012

Even if it was lonely, bring select people. People are going to raid the shit out of your settlement now.

It seems people aren't quite so quick on destroying things nowadays, i've had a base under 5000 for at least a few months now, that none has found. So, I suspect this one will still stay even after the coords are revealed, might make a trip over there though and see it for myself, looks quite impressive.

I revealed the coords hoping someone would come, I care not whether they stay and help, or destroy it...

I got on to blow it up but the server is full of so many try-hards that I couldn't even stick around for ten minutes.

Me and friend just went there, didn't grief it but looted it :p. Very impressive place, I don't have a clue what you were trying to do with that zombie spawner and redstone contraption tho :S

Wait, are you the guy who did the Great Dwarven Spawn Cage? It was around December last year, me, Kaameron and two others trapped everyone inside spawn. I'm pretty sure you were the other one, right? I gave you a crown.
