So I was thinking and wanted to think of all the genres im missing. As of he last 3 to 4 years FPS games have almost owned the game industry. So Im trying think of all the other genres that seem almost dead or disappearing:
Racing
Flight Sim
sports
Fighting
I feel like Im missing alot,aren't I?

The actually good game genre
The only one I can say I agree with you on is flight sim.
How about Life Simulation?
PC game
oh snap man i remember that game in your avatar what was that game it was awesome back in the day
Toejam & earl
it has a mint soundtrack.
Stealth
Point and Click Adventures
Platformers
At least it feel's like it
Train Simulators.
It's almost as if people don't find trains exciting anymore...
I would say platformer if not for meat boy and little big planet
I can agree with stealth, the last good one was Splinter Cell Conviction with no others in sight for a while.
Tactical-Realistic First person shooters.(SWAT 4, Rainbow Six before Vegas)
The only one that's decently popular out there right now is ArmA II.
Nothing I think is really dying, it just seems that generic (as in not tactical, stealth, like Call of Duty stuff is what I'm talking about) FPS's and TPS's are expanding very fast.
I'll agree that flight sims are dead, but the others on your list are still quite alive.
Shmups are, outside a few Japanese series, dead. And the RTS seems to be declining - there's still Starcraft and Command&Conquer, but not much else.
You're only counting PC games on your list, except flight sim. Racing, sports, and fighting are booming on consoles.

Arma 2
I kinda miss the old adventure games. Broken Sword, LucasArts and Sierra classics.

That's what I thought when I read the thread. What I'd do for a Creatures 4...
Tf2
Stealth like Janus said and good horror games. Monsters jumping out of small areas does not classify as a good horror game.
Wargames. In the 1990s they were damn popular with good titles like Steel Panthers, the Operational Art of War and Age of Rifles coming out every few years.
How are sports games a dying genre? We still get our annual EA Sports titles, plus I've even seen some new good sports games come up like for Lacrosse.
Racing Games.
Sure they come out, but does anyone ever play them?
FPS's are all the rage and I don't approve. :colbert:

Not sure how much of an RTS it'll be, but it's got the pinball down.

F1 2010 was one of the top sellers of the month around its release date

Conviction wasn't a stealth game. It was an action game with stealth elements. You don't hold out an area from dozens of guards with explosives, unsilenced automatic guns, and deagles in a stealth game.
Sports games are far from dying

Yea, there aren't many stealth titles out. Hopefully human revolution will have some good stealth.
Music.
I feel the penumbra/amnesia series of games were point and click adventure games without the point and click, so while the genre is for the most part dead it's nice that there are spiritual successors still floating about.
