• Battlefield: Subforum Deletion Edition (Or, Why It Needs Put Back)

Recently for those who don't know, the Battlefield sub-forum was removed, and replaced with Splinter Cell. In April 17th, of 2010, the Battlefield subforums was removed, no evidence has been left of a reason for why, but with only the instructions that Hezzy had written "Prove to me that we should put it back" this ladies and gentlemen, is my attempt at bringing back our Battlefield. "But would good will do, people will only rant about how overpowered the M60 is and whine about other things" This, will be true, but think of it this way, at least we'll have our own area to rant about how our sights from the M14 were removed or how overpowered the M60 is, instead, we'll be clogging up the Battlefield megathread for people that actually want to use it. Sure, those people can just search for what there looking for, but being human, others just want a nice place where the only topic is what they're talking about, and what they're thinking about, so that they can share their rantings together. In the Battlefield subforum, there was also numerous tips and tactics for being amazing at the game, things like equipping shotguns with magnum and slug ammo, and those other tactics Roland mentioned in his thread, but we can't view it because it's no longer there. I'm sorry Roland, but no one can view your thread because there is no more sub forum. Not to mention, without our sub forum, we're missing all the news about upcoming DLCs and other goodies like the Dr. Pepper promotion. Hell, even Agoat and a few others where giving away Dr. Pepper codes to the sad UK folks that didn't have access to them, I guess others can say Agoat was pretty fucking awesome for this, but the rest won't be able to view the section or post in it, sure people can still send private messages and ask, but then we won't be updated about when the promotions become active again (currently everyone is on their toes as the release for the special prizes were going to be on the prize selection screen after April 15th) So Agoat, all that hard work you spent getting those poor saps some good promotional codes, has gone to a complete halt as no one else will be able to discover your thread, but don't worry, in time this thread will succeed, and in time, you'll be able to smuggle more codes into the UK territory. This brings us to our final reason we would like our sub-forums back, we'd like to discuss anything about the series, in an open environment. This means we really would hate to discuss countless battlefield topics in one megathread, most of the discussion would become derailed, and alot of the rants will remain without dumb & agree ratings. The Battlefield series has a huge player base, and people would love to talk about other topics concerning Battlefield without having to clog up the megathreads. And Hezzy, if none of this pleases you, here's a Dr. Pepper for your enjoyment, maybe it will change your mind, and maybe it won't, but in the end, you still get one. Sorry that is has no promotional code, you'll need to go to the Battlefield Sub forums to get that, seeing as you live in the UK. Considering BF is a much larger, more-popular franchise than Splinter Cell, we should have a BF forum instead of a SC forum, if we have to choose between the two.
I say get rid of the cod series to make way for the BF series. Or just get rid of SC and put BF back the way it was.

I don't understand why Call Of Duty still has its own subforum, place is pretty much deserted
Bring it back!
Why not have both forums? That way everybody is happy.
I agree. And someone needs to explain to me why MW2 and ME2 weren't de-subforumed first, as both seemed notably less active. Not that they weren't active, but less than the BC2 subforum...
The reason there is less people posting in the battlefield megathread is because the section is no longer on the front page. There's a Call of Duty subforum with 26 people viewing. What if there was no subforum for Call of Duty and we just had a megathread, do you think 26 people would be viewing it? No. Also is it just me or has Hezzy gained a little bit of weight?
Leave the Mass Effect subforum and replace the Call of Duty one with Battlefield.
Also is it just me or has Hezzy gained a little bit of weight?
That's mean.
Please bring it back.
I liked the Battlefield forum. :(
Getting the Battlefield forum back would increase my daily Facepunch browsing by 38%, and increase my happiness factor by at least 6.
Hezzy, quite obviously, a brand new subforum is going to have more initial posts than a subforum that had been around for a little while longer, so that reasoning is a little flawed.
Also, I just want to point out to Hezzy that over 100 posts may have been made in the splinter cell forum, and 64 in the battlefield megathread, this is because: - Not many people know about the BC2 megathread yet and really its just for discussing the game and what you think of it, as opposed to adding fun stuff, or dr pepper promotional codes, etc. - (more important) A lot of the posts in the splinter cell subforum are about bringing back the battlefield subforum :v:
There are only 17 people viewing it on a Saturday night @ 11PM, thats sad Splinter Cell! Actually, only 214 posts have been made in the new Splinter Cell section and 114 are in a bring back bad company 2 thread.

Why not replace COD?
Why can't they just give us a good reason?
This shocked me, I thought the Battlefield sub forum was really active when compared to others. Replacing it with Splinter Cell of all things is hilarious. Why can't their be both?
