So I e-mail'd gabe and this is what he replied. (also emailed the sequel list he wanted :v:) So yeah we are going to get a music player in steam (Well, they want one so ...) [editline]09:46PM[/editline] Oh hey an informative
They'd like to, he never said they're going to.
Awesome i could use one of those, would save me god knows how much on a keyboard with buttons to change music
I prefer itunes.
Wish Gabe would reply to my emails also he said "We'd like to" not "yeah man you're getting one"
okay fix'd op
The Valve community sucks with passing comments like this. If someone says "We're thinking about maybe considering the possibility of making Counter-Strike 2" it would be taken as a confirmation and Gabe would get 50,000 emails about it every day.
That's awesome. I can switch between looping Ticket to Ride and I Call Your Name. Make me play better for some reason.
I'm sure it wouldn't be hard to make some sort of interface to work with whatever player you have installed, kind of like Foxytunes in firefox.
Yeah well, considering most of the community are angsty 12 year olds...I'm not suprised.
Didn't Steam have those shitty Penny Arcade comics on it for a while ?
I would put on the TF2 main theme every time I play TF2. It'd be great motivation.
Yeah now that I have started playing CS:S again, there is hell of a lot of 12 year old little unskilled "LOLOLO U HAXXORZ BANHIM" kids, I rather listen to some Offspring while killing stuff. Seriously, I was on a server this day, and the main admin was a 12 year old fagit... The fuck. Parents spoil their childs these days
Didn't Steam have those shitty Penny Arcade comics on it for a while ?
Still does, bottom of the storefront. Valve really needs to let people make plugins for the Steam overlay, so we could already have this stuff.
Gabe seems to be really nice to his emailers lately, I told him (paraphrase) that, "I know you want to keep upping the hype for Episode 3, but there comes a point in every game's life where all of that hype turns into, "Nah, the game is just vaporware/never coming out." And that point for Episode 3 is coming soon. Etcetera." (After the list of couse) And he said "Thanks." I don't know about you, but Thanks for me means that I gave him valuable info. And that is good.
Didn't Steam have those shitty Penny Arcade comics on it for a while ?
they still got them at the bottom of the Store page
Generic 2 second response...
I remember a couple of years ago when you could type 'mp3' in the console. That was handy in a useless kind of way, I still used it though.
Steam - 2011's best web browser and content delivery I wish
They should allow programmable widgets for the friends tab.
I bet its just going to be like their web browser. Web browser uses Internet Explorer and Music player uses Windows Media Player.
They did have an MP3 player built into there first source engine (aka when HL2 was out). I believe the console command was mp3 but it's be removed since HL2 EP1 was released or just something completely different.
What's the point? Just open a media player in the background then bind some unused keys to skip song, pause/play, etc.
Just use the ingame browser, then use youtube or pandora or muxdos or whatever.
I prefer itunes.
God no, Apple products have shitty fucking coding for windows based systems biggest resource hog and all it fucking does is play mp3 files honestly Apple, it's pathetic
this would be useful in certain games
I'd like it.
I would put on the TF2 main theme every time I play TF2. It'd be great motivation.

bind [key] play ui/gamestartup(1,2,3,4,5,6,7).mp3
EX: "bind ] play ui/gamestartup6.mp3" Will play the ending tune of Meet the Spy(Petite Chou-Fleur)
You wouldn't need that if you are using global hotkeys in Winamp for example. Which I do.
