This is a recruitement thread, for the general thread go to: http://www.facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=764043 (Introduction shamelessly stolen from Raloc) Wurm Online, a MMOFS (Massivley Multiplayer Online Fantasy Simulator) in which players set out alone, or in groups of players into a large unmapped world, for the most part pioneering this wild land. From large peaks, to hidden valleys, the lands of Wurm are absolutely huge, taking 10+ hours to reach one corner of the map to another allowing for seclusion if wanted. Wurm allows for an unheard of amount of freedom, from clearcutting forests leaving plains, to terraforming small hills into great peaks (if you know the trade secrets) to even allowing for building of houses wherever you please, Wurm is truly one of the most freeform MMO's around. On top of being freeform in tradeskills, it does have a weak fighting system that is mainly supported by quality crafters, it allows for warring between towns, factions and other players, allowing for wars to be fought out with words in politics or with swords in the battlefield. Currently, the Wurm world is split into two distinctly different servers, the Freedom Server which allows crafters to go about their business without interruptions from PvP combat, to the Wild Server which is a battle between Blacklighters and Whitelighters, cleverly named after the beams of light that extend from the main altars of the gods. The Home Server is mainly focused on people running and owning businesses buying and selling without the worry that someone will come and break down their door and everything will be gone the next time you login, which many players perceive as boring since there is no Risk vs. Reward. Whilst the Wild Server on the other hand incorporates the business feel on the Home Server with the need to build walls and protection along with it, as there will always be a warring faction that will want to put you out of business by breaking in and looting. Some players find that scary and don't want to lose their work, but at the expense of going to place where there's never any danger just isn't the answer in my opinion. The History of Facepunch I’m going to sum this up within a small paragraph as I lack the knowledge of the original towns, all I know is that Raloc was the original founder and brought facepunch into Wurm. Facepunch has had many different villages and splinter groups within Wurm; this is due to power struggles and general idiocy. Camps would fall as quickly as they were made but we would always find ourselves ending up at The Pirate Outpost. This camp was created by Raloc and the name has been used every time a new village gets founded. Personally I had a lot of fun at the last Pirate Outpost created upon tundra on the wild server. A few members still play actively and are part of the community (We love you milp, you pubby you.) but hopefully old and new members alike will rise up and take on the challenge! If anybody has a decent log of history they would like to add to this then you can email me it: see my profile for address. The Plan Quick notes: Server: Golden Valley Kingdom: Jenn-Kellon Map: http://www.cubeupload.com/files/410e00crapmap.png What do you think the plan is? We create a new village! This town is going to be created on the Golden Valley server as I doubt any of you, especially newbies, feel like paying for a game without trying it. We are going to be part of the Jenn-Kellon kingdom so when you create your accounts make sure you choose this. Why did we choose to play as Jen-Kellon? Because they are the most played kingdom and if any of you later decide that you want to subscribe you will be part of the (currently) most powerful kingdom. Ready to join? Then follow these simple instructions: 1. Create an account on wurmonline.com Make sure you choose Jenn-Kellon as your kingdom if you want to be playing with us! Gender = what you want. Server = where you want to go after golden valley if you go premium. Kingdom = Jenn-Kellon. 2. Either use the map and work your way towards the village or wait until somebody is ready to lead you. We may post a more helpful walkthrough sooner or later. 3. Listen to the elders! This camp is no slave trade but for the camp to prosper people, especially newer players need to do as they are told. If you are told not to cut down those trees find some further away, etc. (There are reasons for this) 4. Don’t start spamming buildings because “you want a house” starting gear is of no value whatsoever and can easily be remade (if lost or stolen) creating lots of buildings will fuck up the camps design and will generally ruin the experience. We are going to build an arena! What more could you want? 5. Have fun! Still don't know where to go? Check the map at the top of the thread.
The purpose of this thread is to perhaps recruit some new players seeing as how the old thread has like 3 people actively posting at like a timespan of a day.
Most of the other thread is shit posts anyway, which I fear this will become in due time :sigh:
Basically we've sailed around the continent and set up camp next to the enemy. This is the starting server which generally means there wont be much resistance when It comes to Fight Skill but we hope to get some combat after we've set up our camp. (It's not far from the enemies starting position so we have potential to greif the other half of the server)
We also found two other FPers Comcastic and Greedo but they're part of the other faction ;(
I'd like to try this game, everyone is babbling about it, might aswell give it a go.
That's the spirit we're looking for, and to add to the survival aspect of this mmo we're not having a deed like minges tirith so basically if you die you're fucked
I'd like to try this game, everyone is babbling about it, might aswell give it a go.
Its hard to get started but once you get rolling, it gets easier as you go :)
why do you guys still play this game (User was banned for this post ("why reply" - Spork-Juct))
dat was a serious question btw
Ironicly i Started with two friends of mine last night, Project 41 and SammyWalton. On the Mol Rehan server though :) we have our village built already
We sailed all the way to MR lands and I just found out we're also near HOTS so we're in a clusterfuck of factions
dat was a serious question btw
Messing about is fun, after playing Haven and Hearth we thought we'd go and have a little walk around the on the Golden Valley server. You missed out on alot of good times because you wen't Mol Rehan.
I'd play if it wasn't so hard to make a casserole that regenerates 1% of your food-o-meter
Alright, I'm off. Hopefully the thread get's a little bit of attention In the morning. Need something ask any of the people on the list. Goasts is fptehguy, aswell.
I'd play if it wasn't so hard to make a casserole that regenerates 1% of your food-o-meter
That's where I had my doubts too but it seems they added a fasting system or something since I was hungry and it said I fasted and got my hunger bar up
I'd play if it wasn't so hard to make a casserole that regenerates 1% of your food-o-meter
A fishing rod solves all of your problems, same with a butchering knife.
A fishing rod solves all of your problems, same with a butchering knife.
Yeah, I lived off of raw fish for a long time. Traveled JK Home with only a fishing rod and pet champ dog to my name. :V:
The trek over to our position isn't too bad especially when you find an unmoored and unlocked boat in the middle of the coast
Unfortunately I can't make a fishing rod and build a wall to keep all the scorpions away all at the same time. The entire game is grinding because your stuff decays so quickly. I wish it could be slower without having to pay 5/10 bucks for a settlement each month.
Unfortunately I can't make a fishing rod and build a wall to keep all the scorpions away
There wasn't too many animals coming over here [editline]10:41PM[/editline]
Unfortunately I can't make a fishing rod and build a wall to keep all the scorpions away all at the same time. Well damn. If I have a place to go (such as this) I'll play. I don't like Wurm because it's hard to get started on your own if you aren't premi. I'll be there one day, don't worry. Now I'm in an FP settlement in two games!
I will play when I get premium.
You don't need premium since we're on GV silly goose
perhaps maybe i stroll on down on my alt eraloction perhaps maybe i make a shed
I'm tempted to play this but too lazy to download and set it up :(
If anyone is on right now, I'm making my way to the camp. Just found my way back to spawn.
You'd probably have to wait until tomorrow or maybe today if stickmoose can lead you if you do make it climb the mountain
Well I'm taking the way on the map. I'm not sure if you guys took a boat, but that's probably waaaay faster. This is gonna take me a while.
We grabbed a boat but one of us had to swim and the speed between the two wasn't too noticeable.
