• Is There Any Way To Get Team Fortress 2 Without Using Steam?
    88 replies, posted
my family is against steam and I'm trying my best to get the point through their freaking heads that it's not a fucking threat to the computer. So I tried something which I thought was foolproof. I said that I should get steam for 1 DAY and see if there was any problems. if not, I'm out of their hair. They STILL denied it and said that they didn't want to pay out 100 bucks to get the computer fixed after it crashes from steam. Any help here?
Paranoid fucks. Do whatever you can to convince them. Tell them a cliché like "Millions of people can't be wrong!" or something.
Your family is pretty retareded. And no, theres no way to play it without steam. You're fucked till you're 21.
Get it on 360/PS3.

They STILL didn't believe it wasn't a threat -Showed them MULTIPLE forums of the same topic and nobody said anything bad about steam. Still not convinced.
Install Steam Rename it Hide it Have fun
Show them that some retail games bought in shops can only be used by Steam, and that the company behind it is one of the most successful in the industry.
Kill them all like the voices in your head say. But seriously you're pretty fucked.

Convince them that some basic shit like Office is bad for your computer.
Well this may sound kind of stupid, but has steam been an issue for others or is your family just randomly scared of it?
Convince them that some basic shit like Office is bad for your computer.
I've even said things like "Your dinner is a virus", "Your hair is a virus" got grounded argh haha
Just install it, ive done it. Most other people have aswell
I told them to close it down in the background, but then they added: "Steam is a big file. it's 1.3 MEGA bytes. What does that tell you? look, I'm 46 and I think I'd know a little bit more than I 15 year old kid who wants a stupid game, go play guitar."
Holy shit your parents are assholes. LOL IM OLDER THAN U AND I THINK A AWESOME PROGRAM IS A VIRUS, GO PLAY GUITAR no offence
sucks I NEVER get paid because my parents say feeding me and clothing me should be enough
...
If 20 million active users and a thorough virus scan are not enough to convince them a legal distribution service made by a well known and trust worthy company is not enough to say it is safe, then your parents are stupid.
Well this may sound kind of stupid, but has steam been an issue for others or is your family just randomly scared of it?
they said it was slowing down the computer. I told them to close it down in the background, but then they added: "Steam is a big file. it's 1.3 MEGA bytes. What does that tell you? look, I'm 46 and I think I'd know a little bit more than I 15 year old kid who wants a stupid game, go play guitar."
Get your own computer?
install it :c00lbert: they won't be able to do anything because you're the one with the computer
Install Steam Rename it Hide it Have fun
This idea is genius:D DO IT LIVE!!!!
Sucks being 12, doesn't it?
Get your own computer?
sucks I NEVER get paid because my parents say feeding me and clothing me should be enough
my dad says worse has happened. damn :(
Then tell him he's an idiot. Seriously, If you can't trust an official program used with software bought in a shop, who can you trust. Using that logic, their could be viruses in store-bought games or built into windows. Valve is a big-name company, if Steam had a virus in it them people would be up in arms about it, they would be arrested and sued for distributing malicious software. But as it stands, it doesn't and therefore is trusted.
Tell them to read this thread?
already got them to read multiple threads like these. like I said before, still not convinced.
Date of Birth September 16, 1973 (35) it's time to move out mate
Tell them that the on/off button is a bigger threat than Steam.
Date of Birth September 16, 1973 (35) it's time to move out mate
haha I'm really 15. my brother changed my date of birth because... he's 11, I don't really know why :)
