Yeah, only reason why people buy it. Trailer Wikipedia Copypasta:
Torchlight is an action role-playing game developed by Runic Games and published by Perfect World, released for Windows in October 2009. The fantasy-themed game is set in the fictional town of Torchlight and the expansive caverns and dungeons nearby, which adventurers explore to collect valuable loot and battle hordes of monsters. It also has moddability. AND it's made by the team behind Diablo, so before you start hating. Release date(s) Windows October 27, 2009 (download) NA January 5, 2010 (retail) EU April 9, 2010 (retail) Mac OS X May 12, 2010 CLASSES DESTROYER WHO'S CHARGING IN? THE MOTHERFUCKING DESTROYER, THATS WHO! Not your average warrior! This one has magic spells 'n shit so it can summon Ancestral spirits that do stuff. Alchemist Nothing special, just your Mage guy who thinks he has THE EMBER. Vanquisher Female rogue that will make Lara Croft look like a porn star. Oh wait. Specs PC Windows XP or later, x86-compatible 800MHz processor, 512MB RAM, 400MB drive space, DirectX-compatible video card with at least 64MB of addressable memory (such as an ATI Radeon 7200, NVIDIA GeForce 2, or Intel GMA 950) MAC Mac OS X 10.4+, Intel-based Mac, 1GB RAM, 800MB drive space, OpenGL 2.0 compatible video card with 256MB dedicated RAM (ATI Radeon X1600 or nVidia equivalent)[7] Also it's PC/MAC ONLY. WHY? BECAUSE WE'RE SUPERIOR! Not for console, no sir.
MODS! http://www.runicgamesfansite.com/downloads.php <Best site you'll find, there are more but this one has it all. RECOMMENDED MODS BY OP AND THE COMMUNITY: Under construction. Also it has PETS! A dog or cat, you can choose. Also the Preorder version had a raccoon (confirmation needed). Nothing much is know about it, except: The Railman as a new Warrior who uses some kind of strange magic shit, idk. The Outlander class who everyone treated like shit because he is not from Morrowind and uses ranged and "Low" magicks. Probally weak-assFireballs. Two other classes not announced. It will feature Co-Op. Being able to customize your character. Gender, Hair, and Facial hair is to be able to changed to your liking! Return of pets! Continues the story of Torchlight, with Syl (your local bitch from TorchLight) infiltrating your dreams to make you go on a very cliche story to Vilderan (some other place) together with the Destroyer, an exotic frontier besieged by forces of evil. A discovery unfolds, that the Alchemist, following his conquest of dark ember, disappeared on his quest to defeat the unknown corrupted force responsible for destroying the mystical race of Estherians. Aided by Syl, the remaining Estherian Guardians, and clues left behind by the missing Alchemist, you will find yourself battling a powerful enemy that threatens to unravel the elements of the entire world. And did I mention the Alchemist went Apeshit with Ember, Destroyer is a bro, and the Vanquisher.. Well.. I dunno what she did but judging by the information, is searching for riches? They all return as NPCs in the game. And we were promised a MMO Torchlight. Coming out next thursday.
Loved this game. For the first 20 hours, then it got repetitive. Good value though
Loved the first one, can't wait for the second.
Such a great game. Especially the ridiculously easy modding thanks to Torchleech.
Great game. I haven't actually played it that much but those eight hours that I did were great. I only paid half the price for it as well. Looking forward to the sequel, coop is going to be great.
Pets are the corner-stone to this game I swear.
Pets are the corner-stone to this game I swear.
I find it odd how a shopowner is willing to trade with a dog.
I use Vanquisher. Because she uses long ranged weapons.
Awesome game, although when I finished the storyline it was kind of 'Oh, well that's that done then' and I haven't played it since. Still worth every penny.
For those playing with us, what are your builds/were your builds? Im using a Alchemist/Gunman combo Im trying out myself. Almost no points in attack, some points in Def, Most points in perception and Willpower. Staff in left slot, gun in other. SWOOMBAMSWOOMSWOOMBAMBAMBAM. I may post what I have later, if someone wants to.

Magic slightly over strength Strength over defense Defense is lowest, but still adequate. Ember lightning being the main spell, minions take priority skill points and dual wielding too.
Cool game I guess. Got boring really quick. I guess diablo-esque games aren't my thing.
This is what happens when Yahtzee reviews things. I totally ignore them unless someone else has told me something about the game first... ...:v:
I bought this for $5 and it owns hard. A lot of the blizzard north team is on the runic team also so hearing the torchlight town's music was so great. It felt very tristram-y. Matt uelmen is a great composer
I'm hoping Torchlight II can compete with Diablo III. Diablo III is slowly turning into WoW.
I'm hoping Torchlight II can compete with Diablo III. Diablo III is slowly turning into WoW.
seriously? how?
Great game, I really loved the incredibly easy to use map editor, it's like Lego/Amnesia editor. And the ability to send your pet to sell your extra shit is a freaking God send, every RPG needs something like that.
I'm hoping Torchlight II can compete with Diablo III. Diablo III is slowly turning into WoW.
lol no. diablo 3 will be a great game and so will torchlight 2, that's basically what it'll be. when it comes down to it though, i still prefer diablo.
Good mods? I use Torchlight Enhanced Textures and the Ferret pet, which was included in the editor's files but not in the game itself.
Gabe Newell also said his favorite FPS that was non-Valve was Modern Warfare 2. So, I assume this is shit as well?
People here hate Call of Duty because it's too mainstream slash too fast-paced-fun not deep enough.
People here hate Call of Duty because it's too mainstream slash too fast-paced-fun not deep enough.
I like it for being fast paced and not deep. Bad company too was kinda boring. CoD gets boring too but I still like it more.
Well yeah, it's not really supposed to be another Half-Life 2, people like it for what it is. Some say "but CoD isn't innovating anything!" when that's the case with most franchises anyway. Love it or hate it, it's not really a bad game. Though last time I checked MW2 didn't have dedicated servers and when hosts disconnected it was horrible.

how did this turn in to call of duty and half life 2 discussion
This game is the only game I played when I broke my arm, you can play the entire thing with just a mouse :woop:
Would you guys reccomend dual wielding or weapon and shield for a destroyer?
Would you guys reccomend dual wielding or weapon and shield for a destroyer?
I dual wield everything I can. Pistols, maces, swords. anything. I end up putting stuff that makes me health regen all the time or refill on hit anyway so that makes up for it.
Would you guys reccomend dual wielding or weapon and shield for a destroyer?
I had to dual wield since shields never dropped for me
Wait there are shields in this game? Never knew.
