HOLY FRIED BALLS ON A STICK!

JUST THIS MINUTE NEW BLOG POST PHYSICS BASED WATER INCLUDES TRAILER READ THE BLOG POST HOLY SHIT.
Also Game of the Year edition with all the DLC, and Modnation racers BETA coming soon.
Doesn't look like 'physics based' (Flawed term by the way) water to me. Looks like any other water in any other game.
So OP where is your source for it being dynamic? Because it looks to me like it's just a simple shader on the surface.
The smoke/fire already in the game is closer to 'water' than this.
doesn't look like water physics, looks more like a simulation (within already being a simulation obviously).
such as what Halo 3, Gears of War 2, F.E.A.R., and Resistance 2 have
Getting this, awesome content update DLC, like the Paintonator.
It's not at all.
of course they release a GOTY with all the DLC
god dammit
Lets make a completely false title to lure people into a thread about a minor addition to a minor game!
you'd think they'd release all of that DLC for free for the people who made this goty in the first place

LBP is not minor.
this thread is smaller than minor.
but yeah it's not bynamic or anything but it's water so levels can be a bit more interesting.
as part of a future Downloadable Addon Kit
Fuck, i hope it's free.

i hate when game companies refuse to reward the ones who bought their games in the first place but do reward people who waited and waited and waited up until a certain point, usually with tons of DLC or additional content which isn't available to those who bought the game on day one. I'm sure this will be the same case; the DLC which is free with the GOTY version still isnt free in the store.
Fucking yes. LBP is such a good game and I'm happy they decided to add water in some form. People were asking for pourable water and such but those people don't understand how processer intensive that is on the scale that people would want it on.
I bet it'll just be a level wide plane that you can adjust, but I reckon it'll still be kickass either way.
(I'd rather see it in 'blocks' you can put down in layers but better some implementation than not at all)
I reiterate, fuck yeah.
What's that game which had completely dynamic water that interacts with lava?
It's a sidescroller with crisp graphics, something like "punk" or whatever.

The more people playing LBP the better. I'm sure you'll never play the 1,000,000+ levels that are out at the moment, so stop fretting about 18 future levels that may not even be as good as some of the quality out at the moment.
And they DID reward players who bought the game in the first place, remember this? ;

The bottom one isn't free, granted, but a lot of people that didn't own the game then never bothered with DLing it for later 'just in case', so they missed out.

Pixeljunk Shooter, or Pixeljunk 1-4, but it's not out yet.
I'm getting this DLC on release regardless of the cost
It's probably only gonna be like $6

I don't really care about the levels; but watch the video posted on the blog. That's tons of DLC the GOTY ver. gets for free, it would probably be close to 15-20 bucks for all that shit in the store.
Considering they released a pack of tools for free, I'd expect them to release something as meager in comparison as this. But fuck yes, water  Wasn't there water of some kind in the beta or previews? I wonder why it was removed.
Title is true from the words 'water' to 'littlebigplanet'
If you watch the video closely, you see a countdown of 3-2... as one sackboy starts to drown and at a couple of points they have scuba gear.
I assume that the scuba gear is a powerup like the jetpack and paintanator, of which you can only have one of the 3 at a time.
Fucking yes :D

I think they do this so new customers buy a new copy, so they get money. If you get the first batch of GOTY copies, you get access to Modnation racers beta, that gives more people a reason to buy it new. If they didn't have GOTY most people would get it used now, meaning no money for the company's that make it, only for Gamestop or what ever game store you go to.
Oh, this is in response to all the people saying that the people that bought the game should get free content and not the people that waited.
Also, the water doesn't look physics based, but it still adds a whole new way to make levels.
Whatever happened to Hydrophobia? That game looked like it had some pretty promising water physics.
The game of the year addition will be a rip off, seeing as you can get the original game for 12 quid new, 7 quid used http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sony-LittleBigPlanet-PS3/dp/B0019CGTXK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1250698391&sr=8-1
and then buy a lot more DLC than the free stuff you get in GOTY. If you really give a fuck about modnation racers then I guess you might be a bummed out, but it'll come out eventually, no point spoiling it by playing a broken version.
Plus 18 levels? Oooh...no.
