My WoW refuses to connect to the server! Please HELP!!

Yeah so I installed and patched my WoW and when I try to log in on my account in game it just stays on connecting and then says "Could not connect". However it lets me log in on the main website fine, can someone please tell me how to fix this?

Is your account merged into a Battle net account? That's what was wrong with my account.

Sadly it's not. :( Do you think I should reinstall it because I had it saved on my desktop just I haven't played it in a while.

Ok then you have to merge your account into a battlenet account by going into the website, creating a battlenet account if you don't have one already, then there will be an option to merge your World of Warcraft account into the battlenet account.
