I have to admit, this year didn't leave much of an impression on me. Sure, we had some new technology, some blockbuster games, but I thought the 2009 was a better year.
For me, it was Amnesia: The Dark Descent. I only recently bought RDR, so I can't judge it yet, but so far it is amazing. Most likely will be GOTY when I finish it, but as for games I've finished, Amnesia. I think it is the scariest game EVER made, by far.

Mass Effect 2 for me.
Mass Effect 2 / Black Ops. But I get 3 new PS3 games at Christmas so I get to see if those get into my GOTY :)

everything was amazing. the characters, story, setting, atmosphere, gameplay, its just incredible.

Just an incredible game, with tight gameplay, an enthralling storyline and fantastic visuals and attention to detail.
I often found myself sitting on my horse looking at the oh so wonderful sunset as it set a glimmering light over the dying Wild West.
