I recently bought the THQ pack, and I was wondering what your opinions on Soulstorm are. Should I install Soulstorm as well as the other expansions, or should I leave it uninstalled?
Apparently it's a piece of shit. I'm gonna try it and uninstall it if I don't like. The addition of air vehicles sounds nice but I've no idea how they'll perform.
I really need to know if it's worth installing or not, since I have a cap limit on my internet. Don't wanna waste a few gigabytes just to find it's shit and not worth it.

I've got no choice, Bigpond is the only service provider we can get in my area. It sucks so hardcore.
It's shit. Loading times are amped up, uses a load more CPU. Air units are basically landspeeders that cna't be hit by melee units. THey stop and hover in midair when they reach their destination. Dark Eldar and Sisters of Battle have a new feature, for DE it's earned by harvesting souls, for SoB you need units that generate faith. They generally give you features that other hero units have. (Revealing infiiltrators, breaking morale etc).
Campaign, I didn't play much of that, the screen is zoomed out so all the territories are all clustered together and ridiculously small.
I can't stand it, stick with DC.

It's horrible.
Two new races that are bad and use a 3rd resource to try to seem new, even though it just makes playing as them annoying. Air units are normal hovering units but hovering 30 feet in the air instead.
And they ruined those little Necron things that went around in swarms, now they just made them an air unit that can only attack other air units. :argh:

Yeah, I tried the demo and it was so rubbish I never bought it.
It's not a coincidence the company that shovelled it out went bankrupt immediately after. There are a load of mods that are considerably better.
Any mods you could recommend for me? I'm new to this whole DoW scene.
Tabletop Roundup is a decent mod, adds a buttload of more units and is more true to the TT but oh god the voiceacting for alot of the new units is worse than hell.
Firestorm over Kronus. It has a new name I think, but it used to be called that.
Completley overhauls the gameplay, you can only reinforce squads at LPs, vehicles can only be damaged by anti vehicle weaponary, same with buildings. Loads of little things, a great mod :D
Also, adds loads of new units. (Thousand sons :D)
Sounds good, anything else I should know?
SoB and DE are shitty factions.
Soulstorm is good. Better than DoW2.
But then again, I didn't play anything but Soulstorm and DoW2.
Eugh, hate to bump my own thread again, but I'm fairly interested in mods for this game. Firestorm over Kronus looks great, but is there any other sort of mod out there worthy of mention? And what is generally the best mod resource to download from?
