Whats the easiest way to freshly install WoW all the way up to Cataclysm?
Download the client.
Your battle.net account should show an option to 'download client' for the game. This will install Vanilla, TBC, WoTLK and Cataclysm, making updates as necessary.
It will also take FOREVER If you have a slow internet connection.

I actually had a race between a disc install on my laptop and downloading the client on my desktop. The disc install won easily.
i recently reinstalled windows on my pc, and i was able to log in and play 20 minutes after i downloaded the installer.
got 8 m/bit ADSL internet connection
Anything is better than swapping the 12 odd disks from vanilla to Cata.

It only takes 7 discs actually. The WotLK and Cata dvds install after the 5 vanilla discs. I was able to skip BC completely and it ended up taking an hour total. Most of that was downloading patches from Blizz.
Can't you completely install everything with the Cataclysm CD?
