Im talking about games that after killing one enemy is so personal and rewarding. Where actually killing someone had some reason and moral conflict and wasnt just a nameless statistic.
I'm also looking for in depth details of how the charecter/NPC died. Kind of like the bullet ballistics report is JFK Reloaded.
Any recommendations?
Uhm...ArmA II kinda fits what you want. Because it's a simulator killing a guy is more than just running and shooting. You need a tactic behind it. How do you kill them? Sniping, or a close range approach? Will it alert others? What do you do if it does? Etc., etc. There isn't really a moral conflict tho.
People may give me shit for this and I don't really know myself, but Far Cry 2 has some moral choice stuff. I can totally spoil the end for you to tell you what I'm talking about, but it has to do with your buddies you hang with throughout the game and how much of a crazy fucking murderer you are or if you take the harder route and not kill every fucking person in the country.
I guess S.T.A.L.K.E.R. kinda fits too, but I'm not 100% qualified to say either.
ArmA is perfect for this, especially when the person you shot could very well still be alive.
Also, STALKER in the earlier parts of the game is like this, I'll always remember having massive gunfights with only 2 people, and barely coming out of it alive.

Although it doesn't give you detailed info on a kill, it tells you exactly how far away they were and gives a nice closeup of the kill if you headshot them.
And if you decide on ArmA 2, i'm pretty sure i saw it going cheap on Direct2Drive, 8.99GBP for ArmA 1 and 2 i believe.
The Hitman series is great for this - it feels great when you can pull it off. It also gives you some information on how you did in regards to shots fired, etc. It should be fairly cheap now as well.

Agreed. I love trying to kill the targets in every possible way. Plus it does have an FPS mode if you are that picky.
Thanks for all the suggestions! I'll give Sniper Elite and ARMA a try.
Fallout 3. Somewhat important characters you kill effect what some people say and stuff. Characters that are supposed to move you forward in the main story you can't kill forever.
And whenever I kill a Super Mutant horde, I feel like a king.
lol... 'nameless statistic'. So angsty sounding.
Metro 2033 is sorta like this, on hard mode.
People in this thread have NO fantasy nor any game knowledge.
I suggest Zeno Clash - first person brawler/shooter where every fight is tighten with a story.
It fits your description.
It the pace and not mindless killing you were talking about, try the Deus Ex series.
The Darkness.
When the tentacle demons sprouting through your back eat a man's heart two feet from your face after you gunned down all of his buddies in front of him it's personal.
