So my friends told me that certain races are better at certain classes than other races. I figure it is because of their starting area. But anyways so is this true and if so what are the best combinations?
It's more about racials. Like orcs have the best PvE racial in the game so their classes are slightly better than the same ones from other races. On the other hand other races have better PvP racials and so on

Don't pick a race because there are better racials, pick a race because you like them. I would never roll a orc hunter even though they have amazing racials, that's because the orc animations look horrific.

But I'd still suggest you eyeballing the racials as well just to see if there's something you'd like to play with!

As cheese said don't pick a race simply cause of the better racials or you'll be unhappy with your character and will probably end up rerolling.
However if its between 2 races and one has the better racials always pick the one with better racials.
Never choose a class based on their racials unless you're going to be a really hardcore raider that takes every little thing into account.

I could have done better but I was testing out some new addons so I took about 4 or 5 quests on at a time just to test them out.
I'm a level 8 now.
Hmm, my earlier comment didn't seem very accepted.
Guess that my view of endgame was wrong.
I rolled a Gnome DK because of the Expansive Mind racial.
I hate orc hunters because the gun fire animation throws the gun out of your hands, and it looks terrible.
Even worse when your shots clip and your hand is doing some sort of fucking retarded heil hitler animation over and over again.
Same with male draenei.

So you need to be dwarf if you tank, nelf if you need a stealth for pvp, gnome for casters, human for GTFO racial, and gayni for healers

In my opinion they are:
Human Rogue
Dwarf Death Knight
Night Elf Druid
Gnome Warrior
Draenei Paladin
Orc <Anything>
Troll Hunter
Tauren Shaman
Undead/Forsaken Warlock
Blood Elf Mage
These are lore and racial based. Humans have EMFH. DKs like the armor/bleed effect reduction. Druids like shadowmeld. Warriors do good with Escape Artist, Paladins and the HoT. Trolls and the beserking/bow skill. Shamans and the thunderstomp. Warlocks and WoTF/Cannabalize. Mages and Arcane Torrent. Orcs are special because they can basically fit under anything. Saurfang was a warrior, Thrall was a shaman

As a Night Elf Rogue, I use Shadowmeld as my backup to Vanish. It is pretty useful if you are getting swarmed in Icecrown, and Vanish isn't fully charged. I love the fact you can directly change to stealth from Shadowmeld as well.

Its useful if you're a healer, and the boss despawns for a while like ony 10 mabye 25 (3.2.2)
It saved my ass and got my group up pretty quick
New berserking is great compared to the old one
